My cells striking a pose after attacking tissue instead of doing something useful
i genuinely believe that every single person on this planet should experience at least one week’s worth of living with severe disability. the lack of care or understanding for people like me mainly stems from able-bodied people who have never experienced something similar or who never expect to become disabled. it literally can happen to anyone. the human body may be a marvel in some ways, but it’s spectacularly talented at breaking down and showing how every injury or illness located at one point in the body can affect the rest of it
two instances now where the hospital KNEW peak
Bitches out here with Feels Bad Disorder being like, '??? The fuck why do I Feels Bad??? Cursed by a witch, probably. No other explanation.'
I collapsed for the first time today and I keep trying to smile and laugh and hide how scared I am and I'm so fucking tired of it
Dad Joke
My dad came home stomping around and told my mom that he was never giving blood again. All they do is pester you with questions. Like, “Whose blood is this? Where did you get it? Why is it in a bucket?”
People who accuse chronically ill folk of faking sick are wild. My buddy, my guy, you have no idea of the amount of effort I put into "faking" normal. My "healthy" kit includes things like tinted chapstick, concealer, other make up, baby wipes, perfumes to mask smells, medication, creative use of hairstyles, restructuring my entire wardrobe and countless other changes to help me get by and deal with people who can't believe "you're still not better?"
Confession #4,511
Hi, i have Long QT syndrome type 1 and i was diagnosed at age 13 despite it being genetic. is it bad that i think i’m lucky that i’m asymptomatic? But then Like i love my friends and going out with them and doing stupid things or being stupid with them but then i remember the faulty ticker and say sorry guys i’m gonna sit out for a bit and get eye rolls in response or i get asked if i want kids and then get judgemental looks for saying no because the heart conditions genetic but i don’t show it
