First post for #mommonday. Not feeling the best today. Is it my sinuses? Incoming migraine? My period? An infection? Who knows. But I know relief will come one day. Maybe? Until then I have chores to do and kids to take care. What's something that makes it harder to get through the day? Greetings Keepers! Over the next four days I will be sharing how I use the #eisenhowermethod for planning my days as a person with #chronicillness - today's topic is linked in my bio 💋 #dragonflykeep #blog #chronicissues http://dragonflykeep.com/urgent/
I hate being a medical anomaly. I’m staring at my CBC blood work, and everything is normal.
WBC: 9.1 RBC: 4.19 Hg: 12.9 Hc: 39.5 MCV: 94 MCH: 30.8 MCHC: 32.7 RDW: 13.8 Plat: 348 Neutro: 58% (5.3, Absolute) Lymphs: 32% (2.9, Absolute) Monos: 9% (0.8, Absolute) Eos: 1% (0.1, Absolute) Basos: 0% (0.0, Absolute)
Anything related to EBV shows that I had a past infection (never had symptoms of mono, however). EBV Ab VCA (IgM) is <36; EBV Early Antigen Ab (IgG) is <9.0; but EBV Ab VCA (IgG) is 525.0 (which is high) and EBV Nuclear Antigen Ab (IgG) is 390.0 (which is also high). I had a low-high for the Coxsackie Virus Group B Ab panel (B-1: 1:8; B-2: 1:16; B-3: 1:8; B-4: Negative; B-5: 1:32; B-6: 1:16). But that’s it.
I give up.
I’m just going with the idea that nothing is wrong with me. The debilitating fatigue and joint pain/muscle weakness is entirely in my head. I was 36 when all this started... It must just be me getting older. I can’t think of anything else that it could possibly be. Nothing is showing up in my blood work and the only thing that showed up on my contrast MRI was a deep hemispheric flair hyperintensity in the white matter. Nothing to worry about or even note.
(Just as a point of order: MRIs and X-Rays have been notorious in my life for hiding things, as have blood tests and other types of health assessments. I’m tired of explaining this to doctors. I’m tired of being told I’m a hypochondriac--which is impossible since I don’t go to doctors unless I have to. I’m tired of being given crap diagnoses with no treatment plan. I’m sick of being repeatedly turned away for whatever reason--or, worse, being told that it’s been long enough that I should just deal with it).
I don’t even think I should be allowed to consider myself disabled (despite no longer being able to walk/stand like I used to) or call myself a spoonie. I’m clearly just old and need to come to terms with it and just accept that I’m never going to be a powerlifter again, or a runner of any kind, and that I’ll probably be wheelchair bound by the time I’m my sister’s age (which is 10 years older than me). Because I’m a healthy 38 year old.
