the annual ski trip was something that sebastian would typically look forward to. for the last few years since high school it was always a getaway that he could count on; happy with his friends and girlfriend, away from the rest of his normal life for a few days. this year wasn’t the same and he only really agreed on showing up because he was promised that lola wasn’t going to be there this time around. after things ended between the two of them, interactions felt awkward and sebastian just wasn’t ready for any of that. but of course, seeing her there when he arrived was quite the surprise. though he kept it to himself he was a little angry that he had been lied to; coerced into a trip that he wasn’t all-to-excited for. but he wouldn’t complain out loud to anyone and kept his mouth shut as they sat around eating snacks and talking about whatever came up. everything was fairly chill until someone had to mention emily, his current girlfriend. “well it’s a damn good thing you didn’t bring her along, isn’t it?” ben had a dumb grin on his face as he spoke. “you’d be fighting right now, guaranteed!” which was probably true but still sebastian was going to defend himself anyway. “oh dude, shut up! you know that’s not true.” but wasn’t it? sebastian glanced over at lola, knowing that she probably wasn’t aware of his fairly new relationship. “everyone argues sometimes, shit happens.” he shrugged, knowing full well no one argues as much as they probably did.

once again, conrad was setting up his camera and fixing the lightning to start recording a new video for his youtube channel. it had been a few days since he had recorded anything new and with some editing out of the way he finally had the motivation to cross another idea off of his list. this time with his wife riley in front of the camera with him, like most of his typical daily vlogs, but a little less rushed. for a while now his followers had wanted them to talk about what it was like to be married at a typically younger age than most and it was time he finally got around to it. “hey, babe?” he called out, knowing she was wondering around the apartment somewhere. “i’m almost done setting up, so whenever you’re ready you can get your cute butt in here!” he checked to make sure there would be a good angle for the both of them, fitting the two of them into the view of the camera without being cut off in anyway. plopping himself down on the couch to rest, he called out once more. “okay, ready whenever!”

      ━━   specific target , anonymous had requested a hit on someone named riley , ignores the fact that name reminds him of ex girfriend , a memory pushed to the back of his head in an attempt to disguise the obvious , that he still misses her . location is texted to his phone , small diner , surroundings familiar , and he recognises that he’s been here before . blurred memories in the back of his mind are ignored , that is until pools of honey fixated upon femme , halts in his steps . no , it couldn’t be her , he’s not doing this . gaze is teared away , hues searching for someone else in the dinner , it’s empty , mostly . waiters hanging around behind the counter . mason swallows thickly , realises what this meant . someone wants her d e a d , and he needs to figure out who’s requested this hit . tongue traces lesser brim , steps taken slow towards the booth she’s sat in , pools of honey fixate on angelic features , and he offers her a grin . “      ━━  hey !! ” it’s strange , to see her again after such a long time , knows they’re both different people now . it’s been years since he’s last seen her . “ ‘s been a minute . ” he’s not seen or heard of her since they broke , finds self looking over his shoulder briefly , before attention is set on her once more . “ you mind if a join you ??      ━━   to catch up and all ?? ”

                  digits are gripping the femme’s hips , lips melting against her own in a heated kiss - bulge only growing as she was sat on his lap , and he leans back against the couch , pulls her closer to him - hand lifting to cup her face. he feels as if he’s in h e a v e n , has never felt this happy - he’s never been this happy. g o d , to finally have her - to finally be able to call her his .  .  . it warms his heart , and he knows he’s the luckiest guy in the world - because when he’s with her he feels like everything makes sense , or when he sees her smile and hears her laugh it seems like the stars in the universe all align - a way of shining down on them , leading their way. he remembers every little detail - from the moment they both left the house of the one who he used to consider his best mate back then - to their first kiss , - he remembers telling her how much he loved the sky , remembers feeling like the stars above were what brought him hope , but he was wrong - so fucking wrong. because as he sits there , with the femme on his lap and his lips leaving a trail of kisses to her neck , he knows that she is what brought him hope , the one to make him h a p p y. he did not want anyone else , he’d never want anyone else , so the thought of losing her - it fucking terrified him. “  riley .  .  .  ” words are whispered , breath fanning against the flesh of her neck , his lips latching onto her skin as he allowed himself to mark her , tongue smoothing over her skin before he his mouth hovers over her ear , petals parted by soft words spoken - “  i love you , so much .  .  . i love you so fuckin’ much .  .  .  ” and he does love her , with all of his heart - mason knows he’d never be able to function without her , that his heart would always skip a beat whenever she was around , that it would flutter with every word she spoke - but he’s hers and she’s his .  .  . he feels like he’d never been happier - it’s just as he pulls back , and leans in to kiss her again - in which the doorbell is heard , ringing through the house - prominently loud as they are in the living room - and lips part , a frustrated sigh parting his lips , eyes closing as forehead rested against her own - “  let’s just ignore it - maybe they’ll just -  ” but they ring again , and again and again - he presses one last kiss to her lips , as the persistent ringing forces them to break apart. it had to be important , right ?? or so he attempts to convince himself , until - he hears his voice , and mason still remains seated on the couch , his brows furrowing in confusion , as he gazes up at his girlfriend. “  okay - what the fuck is he doing here .  .  . ??  ” and there it is , the persistent ringing of the door , her name called out - he’s actually going to fucking kill him -

ruth was, once again, back in the shop, waiting on her car. this time around it was just as simple as an oil change, and getting some air put back into her tires. still, it felt like she was here all the damn time. it was always something. to think she came from a family dominant in males, they would be able to do these things for her, but she would never want to wait on them to do it. she sat around the lobby, sketchbook sitting on her lap as the time passed. a quick sketch of the beat up room and forty-five minutes later, ruth was finally getting her keys back from the same guy as the last time. she paid him, and gave him a bit extra as a tip, not wanting to bother with her change. “thank you, i appreciate it.” he probably got that a lot, but she was polite whenever need be. “carter, right?” it was sudden that she spoke his name, but she asked one of the other men chilling at the counter who was working on her car, because she was too curious not to know.  “you’re starting to become the only guy i trust with that beat up thing.” in reference to her car, she always called it her ‘old man.’ a beat up station wagon, but she still kept it going as best as she could. // @chrysalvsm

it was nice to settle down for the evening finally. danny was happy to have some time at home, and to spend it with melanie made it even better. he set out a few different snacks for the two of them to share, because no one was ever opposed to snacks in his mind. “i’m tryin’ to figure out what kinda nerd level i want to expose ya to right now,” he joked, continuing to click through netflix with his playstation controller. he had a few ideas but ended up settling with voltron, which was newer on the spectrum of shows he had been watching lately, and maybe it was something she would be able to get into along with him. “a new season just came out with this one. and the first episode is like an hour long but the rest is pretty short.” he set the controller down and rested back against the couch. “it’s like . . . avatar the last airbender, but, in space. and also with these lion robot things ?” that was the best way he could explain it. “you’ll like, i promise.” // @chrysalvsm

     she’d just come home from the library when she was faced with the sight that had grown far too familiar in the past couple of months. sighing, she let herself fall down on the sofa next to eric, who looked more like a lost puppy than a guy that was supposedly madly in love with her sister. “so .. you’re still letting her treat you like trash. what was she mad about this time? did you breathe the wrong way?”

a sigh passed rose painted lips, hands raking through messy, day-old hair as the brunette looked at the clock. although the bar wasn’t too busy ( it was a wednesday evening, after all ), the day seemed to drag on and on, and there was still another hour until she would be able to break out of her place behind the bar. she was soon brought back to the real world, though, as she heard a new customer take a seat. her best customer service smile plastered on her face, she turned to the stranger, an questioning eyebrow raised. “ what can i getcha ? ”
