I changed my name
So I changed my runblr name. Chubbycheckers was sorta...i dunno just not doing it for me anymore. It was a little bit discouraging and didn't fit my journey. Running is something I really enjoy doing and I identify as a runner (even though I don't get out as much as I would like). Sadly Runzilla was taken so I shall be Runnzilla!!
I'm trying to be more active on here and after injuring my quads I'm trying to get back into it. I've got to focus more on strength initially but that won't be so bad (cos then I can take ya'll to the gun show ;) ). I'm going to slowly go into it and maybe try to take advantage of the gym on base. It's a bit daunting to use though, even though I'm fairly certain us civies only use it. lol
Anyway, just wanted to let you know I've updated my blog name and that I'm not some weirdo you accidentally followed lol
Update
So today (I guess it's yesterday now since it's almost 1... Anyway....) I went to a free injury screening and prevention clinic at my local running store. Figured I'd have a talk with someone just for s&g's. Poke around, take advantage of the 20% off stuff. Awesome. Good start to a Saturday then I'd just walk to the grocery do my thing (these are things I know you don't care about). Then it turns out that I've been completely overworking my quad. So much that it's messing with my knees and hips. So guess who has to put a hold on insanity for a bit? Me! Which is a super bummer since I was sorta sick this week (lactose intolerance+cheese+no lactase pills=extreme nausea for 2 days) so I didn't really work out a whole lot this week. So I'm bummed. And also because I'm doing run or dye this weekend and was going to use it to judge my training needs for my 15k I'm doing in July. So I need to get this sorted, needless to say. So... Any suggestions for foam rollers?
Agree about the bras and shorts. I also have to keep a towel handy, it's hard work.
For surrrrreeeee I have this little towel that just gets mushed across my face so much!!
Insanity Day 9 (or, If I'm not hot like burning by June 15th I'm going to be so mad)
Today was Insanity Day 9...which was Pure Cardio....and I am pure sweat at this point. Just sent the grossest snapchat out so that everyone could see how gross I was.
The end of my week got a little mussed up with days so some switching had to be done, but in the end i got my work outs done and at the end of the week I was... conflicted.
I gained a pound but lost inches. Which obviously means I'm losing. And while I can logically reason out that muscle is being built and it takes up less room and yadda yadda yadda I really just want to see that number on the scale go down.
Granted, I am still trying to figure out this whole eating enough thing. I'm having a difficult time getting comfortable with the fact that I need to eat a substantial amount of food to compensate for the amount of activity. I'm using MyFitnessPal to keep track of my food and that's more frustrating than trying to fit working out into everything (not that I have a super busy schedule)
Anywhoo..I'm going to take a shower and drag my ass to bed. I'd love to hear from any of you crazy cats! Let's be friends (PS: anyone who did insanity, am I the only one who finds it impossible to it in anything but shorts and a sports bra?! Shit is bananas...I'd sweat through every shirt that I own!)
Insanity Days 2 & 3
So I've already failed keeping up daily. Way to go, Lauren. But yesterday was kind of stressful for me due to having to go to the dentist (apparently, dentist anxiety is something I do now).
Yesterday was day 2 of Insanity and holy cow it is kicking my butt today. But I'm not really sure if it's Insanity kicking my butt or the fact that I'm doing Insanity, a pull-up routine for the next two months, AND riding my bike to work and bike (hello, 11 mile round trip!). It might be the combination but my entire body is super tired today so I'm taking an unplanned active rest day and pushing everything to the right.
I'm calling it an active rest day because I'm still stretching and will still probably do the arms routine and I definitely rode my bike today but I don't think I can handle insanity. I took a nice nap and I'm going to eat some food. So if I have a bit more energy after that all processes I might try it because trying is better than nothing but I shouldn't really push myself to much beyond my threshold.
Can't believe tomorrow is already Thursday. I'm so glad this week is going by fast!
Insanity Day 1
Yohey! Long time no talk. I see I've gained a few followers in the last few months that I've been dealing with my crazy life.
Long story short I moved to San Diego and I got a new job. I'm finally getting in the swing of things, and considering I live in SoCal I decided I needed to get my body beach ready stat. Besides the fact that I just need something to do when I'm not at work or not running around after my boyfriend (another life change, I know!!)
Anyway, today was my first day of Insanity. A seriously crazy day to start considering I rode 17 miles on my bike today (No car will do that to you!!). Day 1 of Insanity is just the fit test but even then I was sweating like a pig! I'm super excited to start this new programme (but also super intimidated D:)! However, in 60 days I'm going to be sexy AF and my bf won't even know what to do with me haha.
Anywhoo, I'll try to stay super up to date with this. But no guarantees because my job likes to suck my life away. It's seriously already after 7 and I still have food prep to do for tomorrow! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
