Commodore VIC-1001 // this is the Japanese version of the VIC-20. We could say it's the original version of the machine, as the VIC-1001 was released before the VIC-20. The reason for this was a disgruntled engineer: Chuck Peddle was so angry that his design was not accepted by the company's boss, Jack Tramiel, that he left with his engineers, and the Commodore machine was finally designed by a Japanese team led by Yash Terakura. source: https://retro.land/napi-retro/PH3OlH/

The innards of an original Commodore PET 2001 computer from 1977! 4Kb of RAM and a 1MHz CPU: that’s how things were done 40 years ago... This machines weighs a ton (10.5 kilograms, actually), mostly due to the integrated monochrome 9-inch display. Interesting fact: The PET’s looks were designed by Chuck Peddle (b.1937), who was also one of the main designers of the 6502 processor on which it is based.
