Summer must be over because 7-11 has replaced my beloved fizzy green tea chuhi with something decidedly odd: craft spice soda, no sweeteners. It says lemon peel, ginger, and coriander, but really I taste………… clove-flavored boozy seltzer? And I think I like it?

My husband hates it. Iggy likes smelling the condensation on the outside of the can, but was not impressed that I had to leave to procure it.

Once again, it’s time for my annual wistful post mourning the impending end of summer / celebrating the arrival of this delicious autumn Asian pear chuhi! This year is especially bittersweet because when I saw this on the shelves, hot on the heels of "Noooo summer can't be over already!," my immediate visceral reaction was a phantom, too-sugary feeling in my back teeth :( Oh no!

I bought one anyway and was very prepared to find that I am no longer able to enjoy it, but surprisingly, I think I have a good year or two left with these! And if you haven't tried one, you should. It's one of the most realistic chuhi flavors there is, and it's very subtle and refreshing. Get in there before your palate grows out of the sugar!

Still getting back into the swing of things in terms of my brain is terrified of every situation, but turns out conbini is definitely still worth going to. New ginger soda chuhi, delicious tuna salad futomaki, blue sky, and nobody yelled at me! Good day.
