I will say: her toddler-aged son got leukemia around the time that it would've made sense for her to retire, and him being sick was a big part of the reason she kept competing. She moved to Germany for his treatment and competed for them to raise awareness and money for him. Fast forward to now, and she's planning to retire bc her son is worried she'll get hurt. I think it's sweet.
