Hey, how was your spring break? Got another question for ya: Do you have a favorite childhood memory that you reminisce on when you're feeling low? If not, what keeps you grounded when life gets tough?
Haha so random, but I like this. My spring break was pretty chill, just worked, did homework. To be honest, not really, my childhood was rough considering my mother had to raise my brother and I single, despite my alcoholic father who just recently got his life together. Don’t get me wrong, she provided, and damn did she always pull through. So, yeah, she is what keeps me grounded when life gets tough. My mother is one of the most inspirational women I have ever met. She’s grounded in her faith, and in turn so am I. She has shown me what it means to lean into the pain when it hurts the most, and to keep your head up when life is pushing it you down. That the tears rolling down your face don’t define your strength, but rather define your character and what those tears mean to you. That life persists whether you do or not, and with that you must move forward, because all you have is right now. She kept a roof over our heads, food on the table when she could, and always made sure we knew the serious power of education. My mother is my rock and I love her beautiful soul.
