Ciav - Gamesmaster

Ciav came to the Atrum Hollow to learn about general shadow magic, but ended up specialising in illusions and game-playing, and she impressed the Triumvirate and the other teachers so much she was invited to stay. She is now the clan's gamesmaster, though no one is quite sure what that title really entails. She is unbeatable in all the games the clan plays, but doesn't teach her tricks to winning, and there's not much point in refereeing any games the other dragons play as cheating is encouraged. Occasionally if there is a dispute over who won a game, she will be called to declare a winner, but generally Ciav spends most of her time exploring outside the lair, challenging residents and lost souls in the Tangled Wood to games of all kinds. She always wins. Most of the dragons in the Atrum Hollow know not to challenge her to any game, but there is always youngsters and visiting students who don't listen to the warnings, and they soon learn their lesson.

Her room in the Hollow is filled with decks of cards, chess boards, dice and other playing pieces, as well as all sorts of trophys from high stakes games she has won. She displays all of these proudly, and she revels in the intimidating reputation she has built for herself in the clan. Her mate is Talora, the clan’s oracle. Ciav approached Talora quite tentatively at first, as reading cards as a form of divination was the only way to use the cards that she was unfamiliar with, and while she was curious about it she didn’t want to ruin her intimidating reputation. Talora however, was delighted to show her, and in doing so, the two fell in love.
