セミの抜け殻。主はとっくに羽化して離れてしまったのですが見かけると何故か、地中に長く居た頃の記憶とか、地表に出て羽ばたく夢や不安とか、成虫になって子孫を残す執念とか、そんな気持ちがまだここに宿っているような気がして、つい引き留められてしまいます。

the bugless depression of winter is slowly subsiding. i went poking around with a stick and found a cicada shell somehow- it must have survived from last summer. we’re off to a good start to the bugging season folks.
