Cicatrical Atelectasis
Atelectasis caused by lung fibrosis.
Other types of Atelectasis: resorption(obstructive), relaxation(passive) - due to mass effect from something, and adhesive - lost lung surfactant.
INDIRECT SIGNS OF ATELECTASIS:
Golden "s" - RUL
Luftsichel - LUL
Flat waist - LLL
Comet-tail - rounded
Rounded Atelectasis - associated with asbestos exposure, empyema, tuberculous effusions, renal failure, pleural neoplasm, pleural effusions.

associated with ipsilateral pleural abnormality (effusion/thickening)
peripheral in location with significant contact with abnormal pleural surface
associated with curving of pulm vessels or bronchi into edge of lesion (comet)
volume loss of affected lobe
