Ugh. I am so not amused. My drunken human guardians on the other-hand, found this to be absolutely delightful. This is what I get for going to Cider Days with them. DOUBLE UGH!
Cider Days are tomorrow and Sunday in Belmont, VT on the green! I've been working up to this weekend for quite a while now. Come visit if you're in the area. :)
Fall Festivals Conducting Food Drives this Weekend
Two festivals will help collect food for Ozarks Food Harvest food banks this weekend. Harvest on Wheels will conduct a food drive during the Sertoma Summer Sizzle Sept. 16-17 and food items will be collected at Cider Days Sept. 17-18. The Sertoma Summer Sizzle will be at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center, 2546 N. Glenstone Ave., and the public is encouraged to bring donations of nonperishable food items to the Harvest On Wheels booth in the convention center. Hours are 4-11 p.m. Friday and 1-9 p.m. Saturday. The Sertoma Summer Sizzle will feature a barbecue cook-off Saturday, with more than 40 teams competing, and live music throughout the event. Admission is $10 Saturday and includes BBQ sampling; live music Friday is free. For more information about the event, visit www.SummerSizzle.net or http://www.facebook.com/Sertoma.Summer.Sizzle. Another food drive for Ozarks Food Harvest will take place at Cider Days on Historic Walnut Street. Nonperishable food items will be accepted at the Cider Days gates and cash donations will be accepted at the Ozarks Food Harvest tent. Cider Days is an arts and crafts festival featuring more than 65 artists and crafters, and includes jewelry, clay, painting, wood, glass, and photography. All arts and crafts are handmade. The festival includes more than 25 performances each day from some of the area’s most talented groups. For more information about Cider Days, visit www.itsalldowntown.com or call 417-831-6200. Harvest On Wheels, Inc., is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that supports local hunger relief efforts. Founded in 2009 as service project of southwest Missouri Democrats, the group collects and transports donations of fresh produce, nonperishable food, paper products and monetary contributions to Ozarks Food Harvest food bank and its member food pantries and soup kitchens. More information is available at http://ozarksfoodharvest.org/HOW.html and www.facebook.com/pages/Harvest-On-Wheels/124978274189023. Ozarks Food Harvest has sent nearly 2 million pounds of product (valued at more than $3 million) to the Joplin community since May 23. Ozarks Food Harvest also services 300 member food pantries and feeding sites across the Ozarks. For more information on most needed items for the food drives, visit www.ozarksfoodharvest.org/fooddrive.html.
