I love this photo from this weekend’s cider festival. I’ve debated whether or not to post it as it isn’t a great photo particularly but it gives me a sense of the day. In the UK I would avoid most festivals and fairs as they are often overcrowded, overpriced and generally unpleasant to attend. In Jersey fairs and festivals are on a much smaller scale and as such are really enjoyable. Circus fun at La Fais’sie d’Cidre at Hamptonne Country Life Museum this weekend. A celebration of all things Jersey that included several different local ciders and apple juice made from old Jersey varieties of apples, Jersey Wonders, cabbage bread straight from the oven and a whole day of glorious autumn sunshine. As festivals go it is laid back and family friendly, there were chickens milling about, live music and plenty of food samples to try including goats cheese made in St Ouen, honey from St Martin and apple juice from St John.
