A favor for a favor

Walks in the forest were a luxury she’d had access too her whole life, yet there was always a certain thrill to walking new ground. It was fairly rare that she got to travel, but this once she seemed to have hit the jack pot. Gravity Falls had a beautiful forest, immediately steering her attention away from trying to find a roof over her head for the night in favor of taking a long walk. 

That had been two hours ago.

Now she roamed aimlessly, staring down at the necklace in her hands. She couldn’t tell if it was old, or if the elements it had been exposed to had made it look so, but it had caught her eye nonetheless. The gem (or crystal, she could not tell the difference) sparkled beautifully in the light, and she was most determined to take it back with her. After all, she could not possibly find the person it belonged to, right?

The young woman turned, for she could’ve sworn that there had been a soud behind her. She shrugged it off and continued on her path, not keen on returning to the town just yet.
