Little tragedies (commemorative votives from St. Brigid's Well in Kildare).

It's very interesting, actually, how this tradition, historically centered on various aspects of life, rebirth and fertility, shifted to commemoration in very recent times. Judging by an eyewitness account, commemorative votives and cenotaphs were very rare there as recently as in 2022; let's just say things have changed in that department. A lot.

holy crap I miss Ireland.

Its weird because I've been so happy and I feel like I actually have my shit together for a change. I usually think that part of my love for the country has to do with my desire to run away from things.

I've just never been able to shake the feeling that Ireland is where I'm supposed to be. I hope to one day call it home, for real.
