Annie Lai photographed different Chinese girls in their homes in London. Most of them leave their hometowns at young ages, they live and grow here, while trying to integrate into a completely different society. They often face the inevitable fate of returning to their hometowns eventually. Struggling with sense of belonging herself, Lai wanted to capture the strength and the fragility of each subject through the intimate settings of their homes.

You listen to coco and the butterfields! That's so rare. I've seen them for the first time when they were performing on the street after releasing King of the corner and selling the albums and loved them ever since!

Omg I would LOVE to see them live!!! I have Spotify to thank for introducing me -- it put Warriors into my Discover Weekly one day, and I was like "Holy sHIT I LOVE THIS." Checked out their other stuff, and, yeah I'm a fan now. I've looked to see if they have any Australian shows in the pipeline but alas, nothing currently planned.

Battlegrounds, Monsters, and Warriors would be my top 3, at this stage - though Five Bells is gorgeous, and Home gets an honourable mention too. Which ones for you?

Hi! I'm agender and looking for some unisex name and one of the names I'm considering is Everly, but I've never heard anyone being called that. So actually my question is: is this name actually used? I really don't want people to look at me strangely when I'll be introducing myself.

I actually know someone named Everly! It’s not a very common name (though it has been seen to be rising in popularity in the past couple years) but it’s definitely not unheard of either. There shouldn’t be any reason why anyone would see it strangely or anything like that. In fact I think you’d get people complimenting it more than anything else :)

I've seen and sensed a few so it's always been quite easy and natural for me to believe in it. However dragons and unicorns I haven't had any experience with so I don't really believe in them.
