Sarah's Enjoyable Saturday!
I got to see my favourite local actor who only comes to my town a couple times a year last night at Les Liasons Dangereuses! He was fantastic, and I waited in the cold (+ windchill) when everyone else had left the theatre so I could wish him well and such! What I was not expecting was for him to leave some other people he was speaking to, give me a hug and carry on a legitimate conversation about his part! ;u; I was starstruck and beaming! He's way older than me, but he's probably one of the coolest people I've ever met! He's part Welsh, and when he speaks in his regular voice, you can hear small traces of his accent! /swoon
I know that most fans/fangirls would have literally keeled over if they saw that play because his...er, rear is exposed. I however did not find that so appealing. It felt like a brother or a close friend had exposed themselves, and it was very uncomfortable. I've been raised with his acting ever since I was very young, and I admire him more than almost anyone! Add to the fact that sex/naked bodies tend to make me rather squeamish as well as well as my asexuality, and you've got a recipe for a shellshocked Sarah. Yikes!
Tl;dr, favourite local guest actor gives me a hug and a conversation, Sarah was starstruck and fascinated, but not by the fact she saw his butt on stage. Awkward, but in the end, enjoyable!
Ouch.
I'm having the WORST Richard II feels right now. I saw a production of it last night and I haven't cried so hard at a stage performance in forever. It was so powerful and it had all of my favourite local actors in it!
I got hugs from the man who played Richard II, also! I was in the front row and for most of it I had my hands pressed to my mouth and tears in my eyes. He liked the fact that my dad and I were in the front row, and said that we were "good front-row people"! I was so happy and honoured to see such an amazing play. The final monologue that Richard has, the one where he's in the tower and hears music, I was bawling at. I had tears in my eyes and he looked straight at me and I just ended up crying. He was such an amazing actor, and I want to see it again!
