and if i said that cinderblock garden is in fact atl's only true (romantic) love song, what then?
what then?
...I hope you know the can of worms you've just opened cause I'm about to yap >:D
I'd 100% agree with you cause it's SUCH a sweet love song. there's a reason it's my #1 ATL song. many reasons, actually. it's blunt about things sucking sometimes (or a lot of the time) and how the past isn't always a nice one, but not in a depressing way. just in an honest way. and it's so uplifting too. I love its message of learning to find joy and peace despite the trials of life. I especially love its bridge (which isn't new, you've probably seen me mention how much I love ATL's bridges). I also like how the speaker serves as a bit of a foil to the girl he's singing to/about. she's a bit more jaded, but he's positive and a ray of sunshine in her life. they balance each other out nicely. they took this mess and made a home. I hope I find something like that one day 🥹
side note: getting an ask related to ATL reminded me of how long it's been since I wrote an All Time Low essay and I've kinda missed doing that lately. I'm hoping to make one again soon. let me know if there's a song you want to see me discuss!
