There are changes afoot here on Instagram 📸🎉👏🎈 Last week after @mosseri made an announcement 📢. IG is testing the ability to switch between 3 options to view posts on our home screen😍: Home, Favorites & Following. Two would give us the option to view posts in chronological order! ⬜◼️◻️◾◽▪️▫️ “Home” is the current order most of us experience our feeds. The IG algorithm decides what we see based on engagement💬 & posts we generally prefer. ♥️ That’s why we sometimes see posts that are a few days old—IG somehow notices we’ve missed them🔍 & thinks we’d like them.🤗 The 🆕home option will also show posts from accounts you might not be following. “Favorites”🤗 will populate your feed with posts shared by those on your “favorites,”🤩 or “close friends” 👫👭👬 list. I’m really looking forward to trying it! “Following” harkens back to a May 20, 2020 post I wrote, asking friends which features they wished to see. 🕯️👀 @webgrrrrl @turinepi @gfridell_photo wanted IG to bring back the chronological feed. ⌚ Finally, it’s in the works. “Following” will show you content shared by those you follow, in the order they’re posted, without algorithms.🥰🙌🥳 Earlier this week, Alessandro Palluzi @alex193a leaked a new feature IG is working that will let users rearrange🔁 their profile grids in any order they choose.🎉This is a surprising & cool option, because it gives us a chance to customize the look of our grids🧩 & spotlight 🔦 posts that might’ve been missed.👁️ This feature along with feed view options 🕵️‍♀️ is pretty game changing from a content-viewing standpoint. 🤓 It isn’t clear how fluid the viewing options will be.
