So I'm completely sick of people coming over to my house and complaining that I'm too self-centered because my walls are covered by artwork I've done.

The reason is actually kind of sad. You know how you feel safer when you're surrounded by people you know well? I don't connect with my family very well, and I live too far away for anyone to visit me a lot, so I surround myself with sketches and paintings of people I've done, most are imaginary, characters I created myself. Whenever I look at the drawings, I feel happy and safe. I don't feel so alone in the world.
