@calyxlytsong suffice it to say I started working on your birthday present early: finished it unexpectedly early too, and couldn't wait three months or so to post it.

Here you are! It's now simply a fanart for your lovely CinderKai fanfiction, and I'll have to draw something new for your birthday+ force myself to procrastinate until then for fear that my hand shall drop off.

I hope you liked this (rather assertive version of) Misaki Tokura in her ballgown.

Also, if it hasn't uploaded properly, I'm sorry and you can ask me for a more hd version. Never uploaded my own drawing to Tumblr except since I started this account about three months back 😃😂☺️

also, thank you @lady-lizzabeth for the original drawing which I referenced a little for this design, though I ended up deviating from your style lol. I loved the way you drew her hair, but just couldn't bring myself to put it up for some reason?

also props to anyone who caught the V-series CEO Yggdrasil patterned bodice. In the card art, she holds a pink flower staff, and that flower has become the embroidery in between Misaki's bodice seams. Since Yggdrasil is her avatar in Legion Mate - where I assume Calyx got the 'spring green' colour from, I thought it would be fitting to incorporate her into the design!

when I thought sculpted, I thought Tiana, so there you have it- petal like projecting seams that were sewn together slightly overlapping. As for the white overlay near the bodice, the ruffles just seemed fun to play with as a reminder of how Misaki originally wore white shorts with the green shirt. The canon outfit was far more casual, and something a little bit childish like the (toned down and ironed flat) overlay brought up hints of that for me.

in the original drawing, the bell skirt was Very noticeable! It had this glamour to it that I found very Scarlett O'Hara. I wanted to do a different rendition, so the skirt, while retaining its shape, is toned down like the overlay, to present a more subtle and refined 'ice queen' feel.

ah and the fur. I had no idea how to draw fur, but I did my level best. Hope it doesn't come off like shaggy dog fur, you know how it is when you draw something and then can't judge the quality right because your eyes have some sort of autocorrect on ¯⁠\⁠_⁠༼⁠ ⁠•́⁠ ͜⁠ʖ⁠ ⁠•̀⁠ ⁠༽⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Last thing last thing; the towel is because of those little things they used to cover up the female genitals in VG card art. The equivalent of male loincloths or something. Yggdrasil has one of those, the skirt looked a little bare, and I couldn't resist.
