john and jake, celebratory kiss? ;w;

hehe of couuuurse <3 I love John and Jake! I would actually include this within a bigger piece if I did these two in a fic, where John finally gets his big break as a magician, it would be just after he gets off the phone.

 ”Uh huh, yeah most definitely! Oh, oh sorry, there was something else…?”

 Jake couldn’t stop his legs jiggling from hearing snippets of John’s conversation out in the hall. They had been in the middle of dinner when the dark haired man’s phone started to vibrate on the counter, he could always tell it was a phone call by the length of the rings, three times and John was up. Jake was halfway through shoving a huge bite of scalloped cheesy potatoes into his mouth when the conversation turned formal and John rushed into the hallway, leaving Jake to the cooling pot of potatoes and green beans. Swallowing hard he waited anxiously, doing a poor job of continuing the meal by himself, but he had to force himself to sit still instead of breathing down John’s neck to see if he’d gotten it.

 It felt like hours, when really it was maybe three or four minutes, before John came back in with an unreadable expression on his face. Cautiously Jake tried to speak up, after all John had been turned down before… “Er, so…did it go sportingly?”

 ”No, not really.” Great godstoppers was it bad? It was bad. Getting up out of his chair he went to put both of his hands on John’s shoulders in a comforting manner.

 ”Oh blast it, I’m so sorry John I-” suddenly he was cut off by a grinning John Egbert in high spirits, shooting him a wink of complete tom foolery Jake was accustomed to at this point.

 ”Better than sportingly! I got it!” The grin that flashed to Jake’s face rivaled John’s at best and soon he was tossing his arms around the boy’s neck, catching his lips in a full kiss. It was more than congratulations, more than words Jake could come up with to say how proud and happy he was in those few moments.
