hey friend could I get uhhhhhhhh some good and comforting luke content to soothe my soul (bonus points if mara or rey is involved)

one cutesy luke/mara/rey drabble, coming right up! 

The first rays of sunlight are beginning to spill into the room when Luke is taken from his dreams and sent into that odd world in between sleep and reality. He becomes vaguely aware of the warm presence of his wife, sleeping soundly against him, and the way stray locks of her hair tickle his skin. There is a lingering moment where he feels completely and utterly content. 

Then, the sound of tiny footsteps, padding lightly across the room, closely followed by little fingers prodding at his arm. 

“Papa.” A hushed murmur, repeated just a bit louder in the following seconds of silence. “Papa!” 

Luke, stubbornly clinging to these last precious moments of sleep, finally responds with a lazy hum of recognition. The prodding of his arm graduates into a resolute jostle. 

“You said we could play tomorrow,” the voice of his daughter sounds almost insulted. “It’s tomorrow.” 

Luke knows exactly what he’s doing when he responds only with silence; it takes everything not to split into a grin when she shakes him more fervently. 

“Come on, Papa!” 

Beside him, Mara stirs slightly, eyelashes fluttering against his shoulder. Her chest heaves in a sigh, and she speaks with the tone of a woman expecting at least another thirty minutes of rest. “Luke. Your child wants to play with you.” 

This time, Luke really does smile. “She’s your child too, Mara.” 

“Not at this hour.” This is punctuated by her rolling over, bringing most of the blankets with her. Meanwhile, Rey has begun to pull determinedly at his sleeve. With a soft sigh of defeat, he finally opens his eyes, hauling himself upward.

“Okay, alright. Let’s play.” 

Despite his sluggishness, he can’t deny the warmth in his heart as his daughter’s face is set alight with glee. She reaches for his hand and drags him from the room, allowing him time only to slip on a pair of shoes.

The misty morning air is cool against his face as Rey pulls him along, her fits of giggles mingled with birdsong. While part of him yearns for the warmth of his sheets, he takes a moment to conclude that the very sound of her laughter makes the trip worth it. 

Finally she brings them to a halt, immediately pointing to the lose stones around her feet. 

“Do the lift-y thing!” she manages through her laughter, “Do the lift-y thing!” 

Knowing full well that he’d comply to anything to keep that smile on her lips, Luke sits before her, crossing his legs beneath him. Eyes fall shut and hands raise as he summons ancient energy to his fingertips, willing the stones to raise around her. He knows it’s working when her giggles increase tenfold —- he can’t help but open his eyes to watch. 

There’s a fire in her eyes as she reaches out to grapple at them, one that Luke knows she’d gotten from her mother. He watches with a special fondness in his heart as her fingers chase the stones, laughing wildly as he moves them just out of her reach every time. 

His concentration is broken only when Rey abandons her task to fling herself into his embrace, letting the stones cascade to the ground behind her. Luke holds her as close as his arms will allow, allowing his laughter to mix with her own. 

“I wanna be a Jedi like you, Papa,” she says at last, looking up at him with those big, wondrous eyes that he’s come to love so much. She scrunches her nose as Luke playfully swipes his thumb across her cheek. 

“And you will be,” he says with a smile, “Someday.” 

Immediately, she lights up. “I can start building my own lightsaber!” 

Luke laughs softly as he rises to his feet, keeping Rey nestled within his arms. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, now.” And then, to cut off her noise of complaint, “I think it’s time to go wake your mother.”  

Rey holds him tight as he carries her off in the direction of home, and Luke knows that he’s got everything he needs and more.

Oh yeah I’m totally fine physically, I just feel bad about it, even though there really wasn’t anything I could have done. Basically I was driving down the main road when he pulled out of a side road and apparently didn’t see me. The speed limit on that road is only like 35 to begin with and we both managed to slow down a lot but I was driving a tiny little economy car and he had a huge silverado so obviously I wasn’t gonna win that one and there’s cracks and dents all over the front left now. That and I’ve never really been in a situation like that before so I just felt stupid and like I was doing something wrong the whole time lmao

I wish the art was better because the story is good..... but the art......... is so cringeworthy

Yeah...I had my doubts the first few minutes but the story was so good! And I was happy to hear Freddie Prinze Jr.’s voice.

Although now i have questions because he got his N7 recommendation at the end? And was he in training in the last clip? Not sure what to do with that compared to how it goes in ME3
