Go off! Why do you think Austin Powers 2 isnt canon

I’M GLAD YOU ASKED Austin Powers 2 isn’t canon because it undoes EVERYTHING that was good about the first movie. the first movie looks at how Austin has to adjust to life in 90s America, about how he has to change his attitude because yknow being a London 60s swinger just doesn’t fly anymore. he met Vanessa and started working with her and every time he tried to hit on her she turned him down, it was played as a joke about him not being as attractive as he thought he was and she only started to like him once they built up mutual respect for each other. in fact, when Vanessa drunkenly admits that she likes him, Austin refuses to do anything because she’s drunk and that isn’t right, something he likely wouldn’t have considered in the film’s opening. they develop alongside each other, with Austin applying some newly-learned contemporary values without losing parts of himself, and Vanessa loosening up a bit and allowing herself to admit that she finds him funny, that she enjoys his company

...and then in the second movie, Vanessa is revealed to be a fembot in the stupidest twist ever, and Austin, overjoyed, announces that “that means (he’s) single again!!” - this is set like 10 minutes after the end of the first movie and it is very very very out of character and undoes everything he learned! he had become a fleshed-out, thoughtfully made character in the first movie but in the second one they made him into a caricature of the swinger he was in the proper movie, but fixed his teeth, part of the joke about how he wasn’t as hot as he thought he was by 90s standards, and like??? is he conventionally attractive now??? are we just supposed to run with this???? did the first movie not happen at all??? Austin Powers 2 and 3 are bad and I don’t like them
