I saw a tweet saying Miles would've ended up as an insufferable, image-focused attorney if Gregory stayed alive and I just...don't think that? At all?

Gregory cares most about the truth and helping people, Miles thought incredibly highly of attorneys and their work because of that and dreamed of helping people too. His opinions and methods only changed because of Manfred. He only feels unworthy to be an attorney because he feels almost like he's betrayed his father along his prosecutor path. He could've been incredible - two mentors pushing him through, teaching him to do right and follow through. Of course, he'd worry about being a good enough successor, but Gregory is evidently an incredibly loving and supportive father. He would actually have that proper support system there that he needs to remain true to himself.

Miles isn't the kind of person who cares about image if he believes he's doing the right thing. I don't think that personality trait of his would be taken away just because he had a less traumatizing childhood. You can still have a young Miles be arrogant and amazing at his job, but winning was only important to him in the way it was in AA1 because it was important to Manfred. His motivation would still be finding the truth regardless of who raised him because that was why he was interested in law in the first place.
