CHARACTER INSPIRATION SERIES: the valkyrie.

In Norse mythology, a Valkyrie is a female figure whom works for the god Odin. It is stated that these creatures fly over battle fields and bring half the dead warriors to Valhalla, though some believe that the Valkyrie is a more sinister spirit and chooses who is killed during battle.

Despite the fact that a Valkyrie is a female spirit connected to warriors and battle, you will rarely see one actually taking part in battle, for they are not actually warriors. While you may see one carrying a weapon from time to time, it is highly unlikely they will use it.

Valkyries also appear as lovers of heroes and other mortals, where they are sometimes described as the daughters of royalty, sometimes accompanied by ravens, and sometimes connected to swans or horses.

CHARACTER INSPIRATION SERIES: elementals, psychics & crystals.

Long ago, elements were believed to be a type of nature spirits, said to control one of the four elements: air, earth, fire, water. They would reside in odd places in nature, such as rivers, plants, bogs, mountains and minerals. They are thought of as the embodiment of life force.

Throughout the years, however, controlling elements has become a facet of psychic abilities. A person with psychic abilities can control external and internal abilities through extrasensory perception thanks to their inner eye (the third eye). 

Psychic abilities can increased and focused by using crystals, generally through contact with the third eye. By touching the crystal to your third eye, you can increase your own energy, cleanse your mind and do much, much more.

CHARACTER INSPIRATION SERIES: me and the devil. [x]

Evil's second in command, Satan's lover, the Devil's associate. These are all titles given to the one chosen to walk side by side with the big bad, whether it be an angry killer or the Devil himself. Often times he or she can be just as cruel as their counterpart, because working with such an evil will desensitize one to the horrors around you.

This character will often be driven to the "dark side" because of an overpowering emotion: jealousy, betrayal, greed, pride, etc. And these emotions can eventually lead to their downfall, because when you make a deal with the Devil, you're bound to get played. More often than not? That deal means you've signed your life away, and the Devil intends to collect.

CHARACTER INSPIRATION SERIES: psychic vampires.

Have you ever gone outside, passed a person, then felt absolutely drained afterwards, be it emotionally or physically? Then you are one of many to run into a psychic vampire. These vampires, unlike their sanguine brethren, are living people or beings that survive on life-force (chi, prana, life energy, etc.) as opposed to blood.

Many of these types of vampires may not even realize what they are doing or what is going on with their interactions toward other people. However, some have investigated the oddities of their bodies and the way they draw on the energies of people near them to discover the truth of their vampiric qualities. Those that are able to learn and control their powers can often learn to find transfer points, and willingly drain the energy of others.
