Rax yelled over the deafening noise of blaster fire and explosions around them before springing up from behind the fallen duracrete column to return the favor.

“Hey!  You wanted a bomb, I gave you a bomb, job’s done!”

Came the assassin’s scolding reply before she, too, whipped up her rifle and shot back at their aggressors before dropping down behind the cracked and disfigured column.

“Oh, so it’s my fault now.  Good, swell, says the person who mismeasured her amount of thermite!”

Rax tapped her shoulder as he crouched and re-positioned on her opposite side before laying down a suppression barrage.  Caspira unhooked a smoke canister from her vest and flung it across the large hall.  As the cloud billowed they sprinted for the exit together.

“We just had to blow up the room, not the room and every other floor around it!” The hunter reminded her.

“Oh quit whining, your way would’ve been half-assed and we’d still be doing this!”

“What, you’re a psychic all of a sudden?” He paused to pop a sniper in the belfry above them, “We could’ve been out of here by now!”

“Okay, first?  You’re being a–”  She as well paused to blast a fuel dump surrounded by mooks, “You’re being a brat.  Second, I’ve seen your future.  You’re about to say something very stupid next!”

“I–…You–…Shut up!”

“Told ya.”
