"Is it better to save children from having to struggle in the long run, or is it better to keep them from having to struggle in the first place?" is one of the modern day parenting challenges. Nobody enjoys having to fight. The struggle is unpleasant and inconvenient, yet growth is impossible without it. We impede children from realizing their full potential when we "rescue" them from hardship. Children can only learn to push above their comfort zones, acquire persistence and problem-solving skills, and, as a result, build their potential to achieve goals and contribute to the world via difficulty.
