Ryan Key of Yellowcard, Circuit Fest
let's pause for a moment and look back at the concert/s we should have gone to.
05.24.13 - 05.25.13
Two months. Better late than never. Tore this up into two parts.
Meet & Greet at Greenbelt 3
Circuit Fest was the last thing on my mind, ever since I reserved a PR for Bazooka Rocks. The lineup was exciting and seeing the bands I love again seemed lovely, but my concert funds were running low. The only chance I had of seeing those wonderful faces was the M&Gs the sponsor malls were organizing. So, that's what Angel and I did. We were like, "Let's go and wing it. Go to the M&G or stalk at Intercon." After our class, we headed straight to Greenbelt 4. Not the crowd that I was expecting. They were not rowdy, but you'll know for sure they were fangirling. This Century was on the stage and doing photo ops. I spotted one of my close concert buddies, Chai! I left Angel for a bit, and waved at her. Little did I knew, she was an angel sent by the concert gods. Her lips turned up, and she said, "We have tickets for you. Maiko and you."
Dead.
Then and there, my heart stopped and I dropped dead. Kidding. All I can say was "WAHT", "OMG", and "THANK you SO so MUCHH". Angel also got a ticket from them. Fangirl heaven as it is, Rej was also there! I hugged Rej and Chai, missing them terribly because it's been months since we hung out at Megamall and pigged out on pizza and cake. Oh, life is good. I left them both after a while since they were still meeting Mayday Parade and Yellowcard. So yeah, Angel and I each did a version of a happy dance for everyone to see.
We continued to wander around and maybe go to the hotel, but since the M&G was there, we stayed. A glorious moment happened after.
Me: Mayday Parade's going to be here! *looking straight to the event poster*
Angel: Tisha. T i s h a.
Me: OHMYGOD
Mayday Parade was passing in front of me. In front of me. Within my reach. My heroes. I manage to say hi to each member that passes by. Ultimately, Derek looks around and searches where the voice came from. He looks me in the eye and smiles very genuinely. He mouths "hi" and waves. I die.
As I recuperate I managed to also greet Ryan Key and the other YC dudes. Met Danie again and she attacked me with a hug. In the end, we casually hung out by the tents set up for the bands. Best thing about it? We were like four feet away from Brooks, Alex, and Jeremy. The three were even happy to small talk with us while they smoked and drank beer.
I was casually tweeting and talking to my friends with Mayday Parade four feet away from us. It was never-seen-that-coming kind of awesome.
Special thanks to my understanding parents who understood and gave me permission instantly.
Circuit Fest
From having no plans to go at all, receiving a Gen Ad tix, and lastly, being whisked away to the moshpit section all for free, I've had so much fun at CF. Outdoor music festivals are pretty rad, I must say.
