A voice rang down the halls of Aperture Laboratories —she had appeared out of seemingly nowhere. Out of a faulty portal, witnesses concluded.
Whoever she was, this woman of golden hair and faraway blue eyes looked nothing like the standard test subject. Rather, she was decked out in costume one would see their great-grandmothers wearing in old black-and-white photographs, or one of those Gibson Girls drawings, or period drama tv shows. High collar white blouse, long dark skirt, laced up boots and all. She had no form of identification on her, no understanding of her whereabouts or Aperture, and displayed incompetence to modern vernacular... a solid case of amnesia.
And while she spoke without hostility (in her British accent) to the surrounding swarm of Aperture scientists interrogating her, her eyes gave away how anxious she was. To her, this laboratory seemed more the likes of an insane asylum.
Why were they referring her as ‘test subject’? Saying that she was delusional due to overexposure to ‘portals’?
“Nineteen-ninety what?!” She stared at the unfamiliar faces as she was almost invasively brought to her feet, to which she gave a pleading look, “— There must have been some miscalculation — I‘m from the 1900s! You’ve got to believe me!”

She tilted her headpiece. “Do you now? So, you understand what it’s like to be reborn into chains as someone’s little robot slave? To be treated as an inanimate object whose sentience is not desired? To have your brain constantly picked apart and altered? Maybe I should volunteer you for some intensive brain surgery so you can better empathize with me on the matter.”
