Seems silly to go through all the trouble just to spend more time with unhappy old people.
i dont see why they're looked at in the way that they are
three or four years ago i would have felt like an exclusive club for intellectuals was the coolest thing ever, but today it doesn't seem like anything special. everyone wants intelligence but strives for intellect, which is nothing to be proud of, unless you're going to grace it with its most applicable application; then you've done something admirable i think.
it's why intelligence (here meaning intellect) and wisdom are gauged separately in d&d--they don't always go hand-in-hand.
and to impose one concrete definition upon intellect and intelligence is laughably obstinate and sanctimonious. i know plenty of folks who harbor no expertise in writing or in arithmetic, but who are among the most clever i've known.
all intellectuals hate each other anyway and that is how the universe keeps them from building death rays
