Sebastian--have you heard about what happened to Sophie C from the cirque?
I did hear, sadly: I’d heard she was unwell last year, and Kaitlyn filled me in on what happened in February. I’m still stunned, honestly; I think about her a lot - her phenomenal literary talent; her absolute capability for loveliness - and I wish we hadn’t essentially drifted so during the past year. A lot of us, Cirque or otherwise, owe a lot to our interactions with Sophie; I wish there was something I could say or do to demonstrate that, memoralise it, that wasn’t essentially meaningless. Such an awful thing; such a wonderful, genuinely wonderful person no one who knew her could forget.
(Also, might I ask why you’re anonymous? Presumably you are an ex-Cirque Sib/the like? <3)
