#cis hate

I swear this is a legit question.

So the term "cis" means that you identify as the gender you were born with or assigned to at birth, yeah? Well, lately I've seen quite a few posts on my dash that, put lightly, condemn being a cis individual. So I guess my question is: What, exactly, is the issue with being cis? Like why does tumblr hate it so much?

We all know that The Cis have said cis stands for “comfortable in skin”

Then how come I read THIS in the wikipedia article about multiple sclerosis:

Cis hating and why it hurts trans and NB people

I was talking to someone earlier who I now no longer have contact with, who was boasting that they no longer get tattoos from Cis dudes. Aside from that just being an asshole thing to say it raised a lot of questions for me as a Trans man. How exactly does she know she is dealing with Cis men? Cis dudes don’t go around yelling they are Cis, just as Trans men or Nb people don’t often broadcast to people what their assigned at birth gender is. It’s great to want to patronage a more diverse group of people, but aside from Cis hating being a bad thing in general, it also hurts Trans people especially who simply wish to identify as male. Do they have to have credentials for you to prove that they aren’t Cis? This idea and culture that is sprouting up is really toxic and it has much further reaching outcomes than a lot of people realise. So consider before you do this.
