for Cisco Week’s prompt Coffee Shop AU!!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
@ciscoweek I am attempting to participate in Cisco Week! So here is a brief Hartmon fic I wrote a couple years ago and never published. It’s more of a HS AU than a Coffeshop AU (today’s prompt) but it does involve a coffeeshop so it counts!
Summary: Somebody barges into Hartley's practice room. This turns out to not be quite as terrible of a thing as Hartley first assumes it to be.
Cisco Week Day 3: In which our reader crushes on Cisco
@http://xxxneonsoundxxx.tumblr.com/: Hello!! I'm excited for Cisco week!!! Seeing as I'm currently working on getting a mechanical engineering degree myself, I was hoping to get a cutesy story where Cisco tutors and/or helps someone who needs help with their work. Maybe with cutesy flirty undertones in the tutoring process? Please and thank you!!

You let out a loud sigh before slamming your tools down, unaware that you were at work and a few employees were staring at you but you didn't care. You had one job, help build the particle accelerator and you couldn't even connect to cords together without shocking yourself or breaking something.
Today was just not your day. That is, until you see your work crush walking in, sipping from his Big Belly's slurpy cup. You felt like you were back in high school all over again from the way you acted around him. Whenever he talked, you'd listen. You always found someway to talk to him, even though you weren't that big of a fan of some of the things he enjoyed like space movies or eating a whole jar of candy just for fun. You blushed whenever he stood near you to look at your work, making you fumble on your words and ruin whatever you were working on.
You felt like an idiot for having a crush on someone at your work place so fast since you were only hired fresh out of college a little over two months ago but you just couldn't help it. He was so sweet and funny and his smile alone made you feel all giddy.
"Hey, whatcha' doing?"
That question alone made you job out of you seat, knocking your coffee all over the blueprints that were giving to you by Ronnie to help you get a better understanding o what you were working on.
"I am so sorry Y/N! I did not mean to scare you, even though it was kind of funny..I mean no, no bad Cisco it is not okay to laugh at other people." He rambles, helping you pick up a few things.
You can already feel your heart beating in your chest as your cheeks begin to heat up. "No, no, no it's fine. I should of been paying more attention." You let out before holding up the soaking wet blueprints. "Oh crambaskets.." You mumble to yourself.
"Now I really feel like a dick." Cisco says, you were too busy looking at your screw up to notice Cisco eyeing you.
You shake your head, putting down the blueprint before pushing up the rim of your glasses. "No really, it's fine." You say with a light sigh. "I'll just ask Ronnie to draw me up another one."
You run a hand through your messy hair before Cisco helps you whip down your deck. "How about I just help you myself." He says.
You look at him, surprised that he'll offer to help. "Oh no, no..no it's okay really. I wouldn't want to take up your Friday night." You say, not wanting to waste the time of someone as cool as him but Cisco shakes his head.
"I wouldn't mind, I'm doing anything tonight anyways." Cisco smiles at you. "Plus, Ronnie is having dinner with his parents and Caitlin tonight so he wouldn't be able to draw you up another print until Monday." He says with a slight shrug. "Plus, I got one similar and I feel bad since you spilled your coffee because of me."
You blink a few times, not sure what to say as you watch Cisco shifting a little under your gaze, rubbing the back on his neck with a light chuckle. "Unless..you've got under plans.."
"No, no, no, no. Me? Plans? Yeah no, I'm like, so free tonight." You let out quickly, mentally kicking yourself for making a fool out of yourself.
Cisco smiles widely. "Alright then, tonight, you and me in the cortex!" He says, giving you another smile before he turns and leaves. Once he's gone, you fall back into your chair, cupping your own face to feel your cheeks burning as you try to hide the smile on your face.
You finished most of your work and took the rest with you as you head down to the cortex. Most of the staff was gone and you only hoped that Cisco stayed true to his words and would be there.
You round the corner and slow down a bit when you see Cisco standing in the cortex, tapping away on his tablet. You stood there for a moment, looking over at your crush as a faint smile forms on your lips before Cisco turns and gives you a bright smile.
"Hey Y/N, you've made it!" He says, motioning you over towards his work station. He pulls out his chair for you before clearing off the table and bringing over his things. Cisco takes a seat next to you and smiles.
"Alright, lets get started!"
******************************************************************************
"See, this piece right here is going to be the main problem."
"Why don't we just take it away from the equation?"
"Well if you do then the cores will snap, causing the particle accelerator to exposed."
With a sigh, Cisco sits back in his seat. "Okay, take five." He says, rubbing his hands over his face. It's been well over three hours since Cisco started tutoring you with your work, with the last employee going home little over an hour ago, it just left both you and Cisco alone.
You reach behind you to pull off your hair tie to let your hair down, rubbing your fingers through it and unaware that Cisco is staring at you.
"So, how are you liking STAR labs so far?" He ask while you take a sip of your coffee. You shrug your shoulders.
"It's alright." You say. "I mean, it's been my dream to get a job here and I love it.."
"But..?"
You sigh. "But, I can't help but feel a little out of place here." You say. "I mean, everyone here is crazy smart and studied in more fields than I have. Plus, that guy Hartley.." You shake your head, biting your tongue.
"You can say it, he's a huge dick." Cisco finishes for you with a smile and you can't help but laugh, nodding your head and agreeing with him.
Cisco leans back in chair, facing you while you relax as well. "And besides, Wells wouldn't of hired you if you weren't just as smart as you are beautiful." He says, causing you to blush and look away.
You hear Cisco clearing his throat but letting out a nervous chuckle. "I'm sorry, that was inappropriate." He chuckles again before sighing, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm sure your boyfriend is a lucky guy."
You turn and look at Cisco with confusion. "Or girlfriend! I don't judge." He lets out quickly but you soon shakes your head quickly.
"Boyfriend? Oh no, no, no, no, what? No, no, no, no, haha, no..no way, nope. Not me, haha, no.."
Cisco raises an eyebrow at you, a smirk played on his face as he watches you rambling off. You feel your cheeks heating up as you finish. "No, um..no boyfriend here. Or girlfriend." Now it was your turn to let out a nervous giggle.
You see Cisco smile turning into a grin. "Y/N, I think one no would of done it." He says and you laugh, moving a hand through your hair.
"And I think it's great that you don't have a boyfriend." He says with a smirk. "I mean, a girl as beautiful as you and you don't have a boyfriend. It only means one thing."
You blink quickly, knowing that your cheeks a crimson red and you're pretty sure Cisco can hear your heart beating. "What?" You ask.
Cisco grins widely, making your heart skip a beat as he moves closer to you.
"It means that I can finally work up the courage to ask you out."

Cisco Week Day 2: In which our reader is hurt by Cisco
Anon Request: How about Cisco is again working on a special weapon and reader-chan trusts him to serve as guinea pig but she ends up hurt. And I don't know it's pretty much the idea... Don't know if it helps for inspiration trying to help ~

"Okay so, what are going to shoot me with?"
You're standing the garage area of STAR labs, watching as Cisco comes over with a pair of gloves he's putting on his hands. Cisco has been stuck in his lab for over three weeks, working on another one of his tools that he's been keeping top secret from everyone in the lab.
"I drew out Hartley gloves and decided to build some of my own, but more cooler and better than his because Hartley, that little know it all, can not be a better meta human than me!"
"Cisco?"
Cisco stopped his rambling for a moment, looking at you while you give him a confused, yet amused, look. "You're going off topic here."
Cisco chuckles a bit, rubbing the back of his head "Oh, yeah sorry."
"So what are you gloves suppose to do anyways?" You asked, crossing your arms. "I mean, you said these ain’t like Hartley's right?"
"Right!" Cisco smiles, placing his hands on your shoulders and moving you towards the center of the room. "You know how Harry fixed up my goggles so I can have some control over my vibing?"
You nod your head as he continues. "Well, I was thinking, if I can do the same things that Reverb can..minus the samurai hair and guy-liner, then maybe I can control opening up the breaches and even shooting vibrations like he did."
You couldn't help but smile at the thought of Cisco controlling his powers. Since the day Harrison outed him as being a meta human and since coming back from Earth 2, you've notice Cisco starting to hate the fact that he has these powers. You came into his work station one day after coming back from Earth 2 and you noticed right away that something was wrong with him.
"Hey Cisco." You say softly, coming in and sitting down next to him. He mumbled a 'hey' while he continued working on another gadget to help Barry become faster. You hated when Cisco was like this. Normally he's cheerful, sassy, and always cracking jokes but now, you notice the strong lack of cheerfulness coming from him and you didn't like it.
You sigh to yourself before asking. "What's wrong Cisco? You haven't been the same since you came back."
Cisco puts down his tools before sighing, turning in his chair to look at you. "Remember how I told you about that one time when it was sixth birthday and how Dante was acting?"
You raise an eyebrow, nodding your head as you try to think about where he's going with this.
"And Dante threw a whole fit because it was my birthday and he didn't like the fact that I was getting all the attention so my parents gave him basically my whole cake and only gave me a slice. All my dad told me was I should be happy I got anything." Cisco says, looking down at his hands while you wait for him to finish.
"I kind of feel like that." He says. "I should be happy that the explosion gave me all these powers. I should be happy that I'm special but.."
"But you don't." You finish for him as he nods his head. You reach out, placing one of your hands over his. "With or without powers, you're still special Cisco, to all of here."
Cisco gives you a sad smile, looking back down at your joined hands. "When we were on Earth2 and I met my doppelgänger, he told how powerful I can become and it just reminded me of evil Wells and how he gave me these powers." He sighs as you feel his grip on your hand tightens. "I don't want to hurt you or Caitlin, or Barry or even Harry."
You squeeze his hands back. "I know you won't turn evil and I definitely know you won't hurt anyone of us Cisco. Have a little more faith in yourself."
Cisco patted your shoulders before walking a bit away from you. "Okay, so I'm going to try to hit the targets behind you so try to stand perfectly still." Cisco says as you nod your head.
"This won't right?" You ask and Cisco nods his head, give you a reassuring smile. "I won't hurt you Y/N, I promise. Just trust me."
You smile at him brightly. "I trust you Cisco."
After that, it all went down hill. You remember standing perfectly still like he asked you and the gloves he built were working as he shot vibration waves from his palms, hitting his targets behind you. But the gloves started to fail of him as he couldn't control the waves coming from him. Worried and without thinking, you tried to rush over to Cisco try to help him get the gloves off without hurting himself but a vibration wave hit you and sent you flying. You felt a sharp pain as you head made contact with the ground and soon your whole world went black.
You woke up an hour later with Caitlin next to you, helping you sit up and checking on you, you winced a little when you touched your forehead, feeling the banged on it. You thanked Caitlin as you look over, seeing Barry standing with his arms crossed while Harry leaned against the door frame, but you only had one person on your mind.
"Where's Cisco?" You asked, you figured he'd be there when you woke up but Barry shook his head.
"He's in his lab." Barry says in a low tone, as if he's keeping a secret. You soon get up, much to Caitlin lecturing about moving to soon but you don't listen as you stumble a bit, making it to Cisco lab. His back was towards you as see him throwing a few of his gadgets away in box.
"Cisco.." You let out weakly, feeling a little light headed. You catch Cisco’s attention as you lean against the wall for support while he rushes over to you with a concerned look.
"Y/N, are you alright? What are you doing up, you should be resting." He says, helping you over to his chair to help you sit.
You let out a sigh in relief from being off your feet. You soon look at him with a worried look. "You weren't hurt were you?" You ask.
Cisco blinks a few time, a confused look on his face. "What!?"
"Earlier, with your gloves. You didn't hurt yourself with them did you?" You continued to ask. Cisco stares at you for a moment before shaking his head. "I'm sorry Y/N.."
Now it was your turn to look at him with a confused expression. "I promised that I wouldn't hurt you and look at what happened.." He says, sighing.
You give Cisco a small, reassuring smile. "Cisco, it's not that big of a deal, really." You say, soon you cheeks start to turn 50 shades of red as Cisco leans his forehead against yours, his eye closed.
You've never been so close to Cisco like this. There were moments where both you and Cisco would gaze at one another or a hug lasting longer than normal. Those moment made all the time-travel, random meta-humans, and danger all worth being here.
"I promise Y/N, I would never hurt you again. Not on purpose or on accident, I promise you that. Trust me." He whispers.
You feel a smile forming on your lips before closing your eyes as well, your hands cupping his face as you soon whisper back,
"Okay, I trust you."
