The tower of the 4th century BC fortification of Aegosthena in Mount Cithaeron, surviving almost intact, with minimal restoration required. It remained in use until the end of the Byzantine period. It is considered the possibly best preserved fortification of classical antiquity in Greece and yet it is a little known archaeological site to both Greeks and tourists.

Cithaeron, Alalcomenes, Achilles, Leto, Aphrodite, Oceanus, Tethys, and Hermes deserve more credit for being the OG Zeuhera shippers

- Achilles helping Hera with her cold feet so she would accept Zeus’ love

- Cithaeron, with help of Leto, providing refuge for the couple so they could make love without the prying eyes of any family or babysitters

- Aphrodite, as a personifying force of love, uniting Hera with Zeus (she’s also the cause of most of their strife tho, so, idk)

- Oceanus and Tethys officially giving away Hera’s hand in marriage (since Kronos was too In Prison to do so, and Rhea disapproved of the union to begin with, bc she didn’t like Hera)

- Hermes casting a curse on a girl for refusing to come to his new mom’s wedding

- Cithaeron and Alalcomenes helping Zeus reunite with Hera by teaching him the age old “pretend to date someone else” trick

Whether he’s a deity or a man Cithaeron is the #1 Zeus/Hera ally
