hey so what if you met your brother's fiance and fell in love but both of you cared too much about the family's name and duty and pretended not to be in love for nearly 2 decades. happened to my friend Tianna Crownguard.
soooooo i created some toxi milf yuri, lux's mum has no canon appearance but considering a lot of the crownguards are blonde, kind of made sense to have her as brunette (and oops does cithria look a lot like her? oh what a coincidence...)
timeline/plot dump and family tree under the cut
the main idea is they got close during augatha's engagement to pieter, he brought her back to the demacian capital, the family base, to meet his close and extended family. gonna pull the classic trope of tia didn't really think much of augatha other than she was pretty but augatha was determined to get tia to like her as her husband-to-be's older sister.
augatha found her way into her friendship via horses and oops they got too close, shared one kiss and where like, nope, can't blow this all up (augatha truly loves pieter and tianna is not about to let the crownguard name go down in scandal) so they take a step back, try to be courteous but not friendly.
Augatha and pieter move to high silvermere where garen + lux are born (tia coming to see her new niece) but move back to demacia city when lux is 16, this sets in motion....some feelings...and maybe crownguard responsibilities feel like they've been fufilled now, and maybe emotions around older sisters of husbands have never quite been able to leave...
(meanwhile, tia's been fucking cithria for a few months who looks an AWFUL LOT like augatha in some regards...)

also i think its kind of funny despite tianna marrying her husband both her AND him both have the crownguard name? i mean im not ruling out distant relatives/different family tree branch but since thats very royalty/nobility coded for demacia lol (and also feeds into tianna's marriage being a strategic one) but also the idea that the more powerful family name overrules regardless of gender is kind of funny too.
Looks like she starts as a complete rookie (probably from a village or something, look how much in awe she is at the Capital (or at least, I think it’s the Capital)) and then she becomes an absolute badass.

anyways that ending to Xin Zhao's story....... oohhhh man theyre gearing up for Demacia next arent they....... I miss my wife I hope shes happy and healthy, I hope Cithria's there too I want to know more about her, she'd make a brilliant protagonist if they fleshed her out a bit more
