Fully (mostly) complete Citlali Redesign!!
basically i made her more of a traditional shaman more based on aztec culture. I only recently figured out citlali was maybe based on the citlali PEOPLE and their beliefs...so that's crazy.
I guess my take on her is more successful than hoyo's.
I made it so she looks more mature. Not old but very much a younger early 20's woman. She wear a lot more traditional aztec garb with "modern" twists. I basically gave her a crop top and high heels to still try to fit into the vibe genshin would use for a character like this. She has face paint as that was common for mystics or higher ups in aztec culture to paint their face as a show of status and power. I tried leaning into the tech side of Nathan by giving her mystic devices a more glitchy broken vibe. I DONT really like citlali's pink in her design so i used more browns and greens and i feel like with the face paint it gives a much needed visual interest in her design. I also have her new "pets" similar to itzpapa and the other one she has in game. The one on her head is my take on the head garbs higher members of aztec society would wear to symbolize gods they embody. I gave her a fox God. I feel like the original idea I had for the fox God changed dramatically. Originally the doll, san'ooch jaw and the unnamed fox hat God were two seperat3 beings but they sorta became the same thing that just possessed different objects. I guess just call it San'ooch Jaw.
It was a triceratops spirit that tried to take the immortality Citlali had. It failed and just ended up becoming a part of her and being turned into objects she can control.
Kind of an unfinished idea but I wanted her to have this plush too, Ahuzital. Basically another mythical beast, this one more tied to aztec mythos who she captured thanks to the ring on his tail and turned him into a plush.
Anyways, maybe I'll post more about her another day. She was so fun to draw and search for inspiration on pintrest for. I actually created the art Inspo board I wanted thanks to her.
