CITRT 2012 | Wrap Up
I'm finally home after attending the CITRT 2012 Event at Watermark Church in Dallas, TX.
I'm not a church IT professional which is why this was my first ever CITRT Event. This year however, CITRT expanded their schedule to include a Web Development track. And we (Ethan and I) were able to get in on the ground floor.
I have nothing against IT. And I definitely have nothing against Church IT. The problem is, I just don't understand it :)
So it was great to be in a room full of guys that speak my language. Instead of cables, nodes, ports, and vmware it was HTML5, CSS3, CMS's, API's, streaming video, etc.
I loved the round table format. We came up with a bunch of topics, rated them and then started at the top of the list. So many intelligent people there and yet all trying to help others with the knowledge they have.
Can't wait until next year. Calling all webbies out there! You gotta get on board. Just keep up with the news at CITRT.org so you'll know where the next event will be located.
Here is a short list of the topics we covered:
Online Church
Mobile Apps vs. Mobile Websites
ePublishing
Social Media Management
API/Frameworks
Project Management
Video Streaming
Live Streaming
Multi-site Streaming
Metrics
Etc.
