Soulmate Citrus au where you have the first words your soulmate speaks to you written on your body.
When Morro first sees Echo he says "who the hell are you?" and Echo echoes the words right back to him.
Then Morro stares really long and hard at Echo, before squinting. He circles around him to see if this robot somehow has a mark because goddamn it he's not going to get his hopes up. He scowls at himself, swearing under his breath because he doesn't need a soulmate- doesn't WANT a soulmate but goddamn it if he doesn't want to check. "Where is it?"
"where is it?"
"your soulmark, dumbass"
Echo stands there for a moment, before he gestures to faint markings on his inner arm. The words are so faint, and look like they've been rubbed out multiple times over. Then Morro really takes in the robot's appearance. Rusted out. Running on steam. And Morro's heart drops. He doesn't know when Echo was built, but for a horrifying moment he wonders if this guy was built decades ago back before he had died. That Echo had been waiting for him, all this time. That the mark had faded after he'd died and then came *back.*
Remembering since it’s my rewrite I can do whatever I want
Anyways Citrusshipping (Morro x Echo) as well as Princess Vania x Skylor (which is apparently called Cherryshipping but it’s Goldenamber now) are canon, because I said so
Cole and Vania get to be mlm wlw besties and I love them
Scruff (Dareth x Ronin) is also canon I think they’re so silly
Chipping away(Citrushipping)(Valentine’s prompt 10/2, AU Ship)
(Welcome to the elemental conscious AU everybody)
(The bases of this AU spawns from the combination of three ideas: Elements can corrupt if overused, Elemental Masters can summon mythological creatures corresponding to their element, all Elemental Masters are descended from an Oni or dragon, and that each element contains a small bit of consciousness retained from the original owner of it and controls the amount of corruption one gains and also chooses if the child gets the element of their parent or if when the Master dies it goes on in search of a different host entirely, usually when the master dies childless or if the child isn’t fit for the element)
(Now, there is a change from canon in this AU. As it is, Morro never died. He pushed his element past his breaking point in his search for the tomb and ended up in a state of corruption that has only gotten worse since no one was able to stop him from using it, and then he was sent to the cursed realm in an attempt to keep Ninjago safe and let him do as he pleased. But anyway.)(This is for the Valentine’s Week Prompts made by @evelinaonline )
(I’m writing a sequel to this tomorrow because I both A) Have a good idea on where to go from here and B) Never thought I’d actually ship this as much as I do)
If you were to ask an elemental master what corruption was to them, they’d give you a glance and try to change the subject. No one wanted to think about it. Everyone always thought that the less attention you paid it, the less of a reality it would be. And it was easy to forget sometimes to, push your element just that bit too far. But the agony that followed would never leave you. And sometimes, you never got the chance to right that wrong. Some stayed corrupted for years or centuries, abusing their element in that state to continue it on. Some were killed long before the corruption faded and kept as trophies. Others just hid away from the world until it subsided. And some, some had there own plans for this power they now held.
Powerful wings held them aloft above the village. It had been so long since they had smelt this in the air. Blood, sweat, flesh. Gnarled fangs twisted upwards into a grin at the thought. It would be perfect. As crystalline insectoid eyes flicked over the village. It should have been flawless. They should have massacred this whole place. Darkness crept over, green lacing the buildings as their master conquered this realm. How it should have been.
But waking up to a splash of water in there face only proved how much of a dream it was. Bound in vengestone chains, wings strapped down to their back and claws shackled to each other. They hated it. And staring through their cage bars at the metal person in front of them, they hated them too. Always looking concerned, always trying to talk to them. To friendly. To innocent.
And their metal body didn’t even make them decent prey, for them or their master. Nothing to rip and tear. Nothing to paint his claws a glistening new color with. But it amused part of them. That this thing had taken an interest in their well being. Despite their sneers and threats.
They were jolted out of their thoughts as a piece of metal was pushed against their hands. They glanced down, was this a joke? There was food laid out on the metal. A small pile of assorted not prey and something shiny that was filled with water. This wasn’t their food. They didn’t eat this. They turned their gaze towards the metal being. “Is this a joke?” They sneered out, wings pulling at their confines to try and threaten them, “You expect me to eat this...Not prey?”
The metal being giving them a strange look and nodded. “You need to eat something, and the others said you weren’t allowed to have meats as long as you were down here. Wu sa-”
They cut creature off with a loud growl and an attempted lunge at that name. They didn’t know who it was, the man with the white beard? It gave them such anger and flashes of that face. They didn’t like that name. They didn’t like being here. They didn’t like this.
The metal being recoiled back, eyes wide as the other was yanked back inches from the bars.
“He knows nothing that we need! NOTHING!” Fangs were barred at the snarling words. But yet, anger dissipated as they saw the metal creature pressed against the wall. Shaking and cowering away from them. It was a confusing feeling they made them fall back to the ground, glaring at the plate in front of them as their spines adjusted back into normal placement. Only when he heard the metal creature’s grinding and squeaking joints as they sat back in front of the cell did they look up. Eyes catching that frightened look in their eyes.
“What did he do?” They said that fear-filled gaze tinted with confusion.
“...We don’t know. We know he hurt us though. He is the reason we are here.”
It was a solemn response, no growls or snarls hidden within. It was a truth though. They only knew he was the reason they were suffering. The reason they felt nothing but rage when they saw the one in green. And they hated him for it. That hate burned through and fueled them in their hunt to conquer this world.
Yet somehow the metal being seemed to calm that anger. It confused them to no end. And seeing there fear made them feel...upset. They didn’t like this. They didn’t like the absence of anger. It was confusing, a change from what they felt for so long.
“...I’m Echo, have I told you? And, do you have a name?”
The question took them back. A name? Did they have a name? The metal being had a name. How did they not hear the metal being had a name before? But it sounded right. He looked like the other shinier metal one. He echoed him.
They stared at the me- Echo. Searching for something. They had a name before, didn’t they? Before they were angry? Didn’t they? And then it hit them.
“Morro, our name is Morro.”
The name was theirs. It was something to call themselves. Their name felt nice to have again. It made them feel better, more whole. At the same time, they didn’t like this feeling. It was forlorn and strange. When did they have a name? Why did this Echo have to ask for their name?
Claws clicked against the floor as thoughts raced through their head, a million a minute. Questions they couldn’t answer and things they didn’t know. They hated it. And they loved it.
“Morro is a nice name, I think it fits you.”
Once again the thoughts were interrupted by the metal one. Once again this Echo pulled them out of their thoughts and back to reality. Yet they couldn’t bring themselves to be angry at them. Only to look up and give them a quizzical sort of stare. “...You’re a strange metal person, Echo.” The sentence was slow as they returned to staring at their food. Picking a piece up between their claws and staring at it. Maybe this not prey wouldn’t be so bad. It was Echo that gave it to him anyway. Maybe Echo wasn’t so bad.
Too much?- ;w; Hhhhv, I just love em so much~ This is simply my opinion on Echo and Morro’s first date.. or just a date ^^ everyone can think however they want..
