Hate watching any digital art tut that tries to act like it'll work on all mediums. I'm sorry, but your way of shading is entirely dependent on how you did the line art and base color layer.

Or worse, when they don't really give a proper tutorial. "Then to shade this area, just use any color you like that works with it!" I'm sorry, but you aren't explaining the process of what 'any color that works' means.

Now some things are entirely up to if the viewer KNOWS things beforehand like color theory in a deeper level. However making an entire tutorial only for you to not elaborate and depend on the viewer's knowledge, that's not how to go.
