Free Agents from OGN Champions Heading into the Off-Season
1) Mafa- Mafa of the KT Bullets has been known to pull out the Battle Cattle or support Malphite, making him on of my favorite players. Of course, his contributions to the Immortal Score and the respect they earned as a duo goes without saying. He has been rumored to have been benched for an amateur monikered “Destiny” but I do hope someone picks him up.
2) Piglet- The recently terminated member of the venerable SKT T1K was once a S3 World Champion and a part of a historic Champions sweep. He was great on picks like Ezreal and have been known in S4 to experiment with champions like Graves with PoohMandu's mechanical slump after his Hiatus.
3) Shy- Though he and Madlife are technically still contracted, they've been previously reported to have been planning to go play abroad. I think it's about time that CJ renounce their dreams of having two A teams and focus on building a super CJ "Vapor." Shy, of course, was known as the runner-up in S2WC and was touted as the world's best top laner until Flame and Save. His Singed and Jax are iconic though he has shown some prowess with Rengar in S4.
4) Madlife- Madlife has obviously reached a divine status amongst his fans. Though he has lost a step, his hooks are still sharp. Along with Shy, he has been voted twice for the All-Star event. Madlife is amongst the most storied and longest surviving shot-callers and is the progeny of the Korean vision control.
5) Casper- Casper was a great laner albeit being easy to ban out. I thought it was a mistake to parachute Poohmandu in mid-season but perhaps there was a personality conflict I don’t know about. Still he was picked from a rigorous drafting process by the World Champions and should be a prospect, though he did join an amateur team.
6) H0R0- He was released along with Piglet and Mandu. The guy belonged to the original SKT T1 that was comprised of the "Eat Sleep Gaming." He is something of a veteran and is pretty solid. Currently, he is looking at foreign teams.
7) Paragon- Say what you will about the IM organization, they have a good eye for ADC. He was picked over Betkyo and he is the top of Spring 2014 kda chart for his role.
8) Swift- Recently released from CJ Frost, he was the most widely known as the jungler for the golden era Xenics Storm. He tends to get caught a lot but his aggression often takes the enemy by surprise. His mechanics are nothing to sneeze at.
9) Peng- This guy used to mid for Najin Black Sword taking over for Ssong and Nagne occasionally. Like Seraph, I wanted to see more of this guy but couldn’t. His champion pool is a bit dated but he seems to have potential.
10) Pray- The Korean All-Star has been faltering all season ever since they decided to switch around Ssong and Cain for some reason I cannot fathom. He is said to be demotivated and is nearing the age where he does need to go into conscription. Still he has been a herald of Twitch before it was fashionable and he used to be the best ADC of Korea.
11) Apple- You may remember him in his brief stint at Quantic where he was dragged down by Locodoco, Suno and Prime. He was then picked up by IM #2 only to be released again. Apple is a very solid player and he is very reliable on the big 3 top champions.
12) Ryu- Once known as the 2nd best mid-laner of Korea after Faker, he has moved to the jungle for as much success as Zero. If the KT coaching staff can’t groom him when they have produced the likes of Insec and Kakao, one has to wonder about his motivations.
13) Winged- Winged spent a brief stint as the starting jungler for Najin Black Sword. He seemed pretty solid but the sample size to judge him on is small in the context of OGN. He has been recently cut from the Brazilian Keyd Stars roster.
14) Sin- Once the jungler of a rising World Elite, he has not been replaced by Ruo. This player has also been known as Actscene of Jin Air and was a sub for Najin Black Sword.
15) Rock- He’s retired from the Jin Air Falcons leaving behind a legacy of Top Gragas. Rock was an impressive player and one could hope to see him fail at being a police official.
16) Ganked by Mom- GBM, of course, is best known for his bow-tie. He was amongst the three candidates for CJ Frost's mid-lane but was not able to distinguish himself over Maknoon and Rapidstar. He has been let go by Jin Air Falcons.
17) Gimgoon- He has enjoyed a recent outing as a sub for Limit of the KTB. He handled himself well but he is known best for his insurgent run in Xenics Storm along with Arrow, Picaboo, CoCo and Swift.
18) Violet- Violet was the ADC for IM #1 and had good showings on Masters. This guy was not as flashy as Betkyo is during team fights but a better laner certainly. (CURRENTLY IN Xenics Storm, A TIER 4, BUT COULD BE POACHED)
19) Betkyo- You will know him best as the Vayne with awesome glasses. He is an impressive player on Vayne but not much else and he can’t lane to save his life. (THE SAME AS VIOLET)
20) Skatch- Skatch has made a brief appearance on the inaugural season of Masters as a sub AD, He held himself well as Seraph once did.
21) PoohMandu- Mandu always were susceptible to being caught out but his run in S4 OGN Champions Winter showed the world why he was a champion support. Since then, he has taken a hiatus due to his heart condition and have not looked the same. I thought it was a mistake to parachute him in place of Casper and this resulted in a myth of KTA being great or terrible. Their greatness, of course, being demonstrated in the 2-0 from the first two comeback games of Mandu. The story is that he is going back to school but who knows.
22) Expession- This guy used to be the bane of my existence when he was the top for NJBS. I prayed for Save to be switched over when NJBS was still the premier team of the organization and Save was not yet touted as the best top laner. He is a prolific laner but has like 0 map awareness. He can’t even spell expression so…
23) Kish- Another player from F5, he went by Muse for a time and is considered a veteran. He was paired with Hermes in the CJ organization but they went the other way. He's since been fired from the Falcons.
24) Mystic- This one was from the vaunted Flower 5 and have been in both Jin Air teams. I'd say he's third tier but he makes for one hell of a Masters intro.
25) Smeb- The top laner from IM was fired along with the MKZ gang. He's held his place there awhile and he's solid, all things considered.
26) Maknoon- He is now the analyst for Pain Gaming in Brazil but we all know him for his “Do Dive” Renekton and jungle Teemo. I don’t think he would fit well in the militaristic conditions of the Korean team environment but NJBS went to the dumpsters when he did leave.
27) Mima- Known best for his Gragas or Mimagas, he led the Winter 2014 Xenics Storm-esque coup into the quarterfinals under the banners of CTU in the Summer 2013 split.
28) Picaboo- When he’s on point he’s up there with the best of them, but he tends to have a lot of downsides as well. He tends to wander off and die a lot.
29) Vin- Vin was released along with GBM from the Falcons. Before that he was part of Xenics Storm with Ohq and Chei. He is relatively new and has yet to prove himself.
30) Clown- Better known as Riris, he was a former teammate of Mima and has been replaced by Arrow. He has been around in the scene for a while so that attests to his competency.
31) Raccoon- He had a watchable quality in the jungle and was prone to making plays for the team. His last performance was with CTU.
32) Lasha- An unimpressive support but has been in the pro scene for a while under the IM organization.
33) NonameD- He wasn’t spectacular with CTU but he got the job done. He deserves credit for making it into the quarterfinals with only 1 pro player in the team.
34) SuNo- He was the mid-laner for Keyd Stars and perhaps people of NA would remember him best for his being in Quantic. Previous to that he was part of Blue and T1.
35) Reapered- Of course, Reapered is retired but he was very intelligent and led multiple teams.
36) Woong- The latest news from him is his coaching of H2K but he has been part of the Korean roster of Quantic this year. He was the shot-caller for Frost and has previous coaching experience with the MiG organization from which most of Quantic came from. Players like Gunza, Apple and Prime would find themselves back in OGN as starters of major teams.
37) Rapidstar- DEMACIA!
