Okay so basically I was about 11 and this was a that fair grounds. I was with my friends: Sarah and Cara. Okay so anyways Cara’s dad was drunk and she told him she was coming over to the dairy barn to watch movies with me and Sarah. This is at abt 9pm btw. We were all staying the night as we show. REMEBER THE FACT HER DAD IS DRUNK THIS COMES INTO PLAY LATER!!! Kay so we’re in the barn watching movies and we’re kinda hidden by these huge hay bales. We decided: movies are boring let’s go explore a bit. Told my parents Sarah told hers and Cara updated her dad. So we’re walking around chilling and nothing much is going on. We ended up sneaking into one of the old buildings and just like… hanging out in there lol it was fun times ofc. Anyways both my parents and Sarah’s parents left to go home real quick. Cara’s dad was so drunk he forgot where exactly we went and thought we ran away/ got kidnapped. ANYWAYS next thing we know there’s an entire search party looking for us of adults and leftover firemen that hadn’t yet gone home. They were calling for us over like the speaker system and everything… our 11/10 year old Brian’s though we were. In trouble and should we do something? OF COURSEEEE we should be smart and like… hide for some reason… so sometime in the next hour cops were called and we were running and hiding around the fair… none of us had phones at this point or a way to track us… a fucking dog was brought 😭😭 (for context this town is like a mini Chicago so like… yeah not a great place) anyways we finally get caught and like… well we got in so so sooooo much freaking trouble… we tried to play it off like… whatttt we didn’t hear you guyssss whatttttt and like… so fun times

why the heck. no. literally why the HECK does no one talk about how symbolic Matt’s death actually was (in a quite indirect way).

Pretty much all he did that was perturbing was shoot a smoke gun while Takada was walking out of the fancy car limosine i forgot what it was its 2am.

He wouldn’t have been shot realistically! And it was a perfectly reasonable question of why the Japanese were carrying such big guns; they usually aren’t even allowed firearms, let alone lnes that big. Their culture is a lot different than pull out your guns anytime America.

He was a bit reasonable in thinking that Takadas bodyguards probably were just going to question him or arrest him, and he was planning on firing off another smoke gun and escaping that anyway.

So why did they shoot?

Because Matt simply rebelled against Kira, even with things as small as smokescreens and secret surveillance on suspects.

Him getting shot by the bodyguards shows how far Kira’s influence had gotten. How filthy and corrupt it truly became in the disguise of a promising utopia, to the point where anyone disagreeing or simply acting in small ways against the system gets brutally shot to death.

That’s a fucked up world to live in, and that scene really shows it. It highlights the story of Death Note and the world circling the drain into dystopia and chaos, as well as Light himself.

Now why does no one talk about how Death Note could also be considered a dystopian story as well?

the way mello in that one scene of death note (talking abt the anime here) where soichiro comes up to him and mello is behind all the screens and stuff in his mafia base literally is like “im so sorry. by the way just know i truly never wanted to kill you.” showing how mello really did feel bad he roped soichiro into everything and probably how bad he feels roping lots of people he knows into everything as well and the task force watching was probably like hey maybe mello isnt such a bad person. maybe he’s just morally grey. maybe we can trust this guy and then this RANDOM FUCKIN MAFIA GUY PULLS OUT HIS GUN AND SHOOTS SOICHIRO 17 TIMES AGHH iiii hate that guy!!! grgrgrggrgrgrskskksksskks!! and then the dude had the nerve to be like “gimme ur notebook!” no get your stank ass hands off of soichiro yagami right now

and another thing id like to talk about is the way Mello looks at Soichiro after he just got shot so much! he feels genuine sorrow! he feels more bad than Light which is Soichiro’s own son probably! fuckkkk!

on a haha funny note i think it was said it was canon mello didn’t kill soichiro partially because soichiro’s old people white hairs were too cute xD correct me if im wrong though!
