Summary:

The monarchy might have stopped existing long ago, and Zelda was officially only a princess in name, but the people still considered her to be a leader and someone they could rely on…

And Link could tell she was overburdened again.

He also knew that if he didn't do something about it, she would continue to do so, and it was clear she wasn't ready for that yet.

Zelda wakes up one morning a few years after the events of the Calamity, and reflects on her life and the boy-turned-man whose life she's forever intertwined with.

Together at Last, Written by CJ Racing

Excerpt:

As the sun begins its daily ascent into the sky, life in Hateno Village slowly awakens for both man and beast alike, like a quiet murmur that slowly grows over time. Farmers taking care of their livestock, shop owners preparing their stores for incoming customers, every man and woman preparing for the busy day ahead.

It was at this moment, up at that quaint house across the bridge, that Link begins to stir, slowly opening his eyes as he soaks in the sun's morning rays that reach towards his face. A look of surprise washes over him, sitting up before looking to his right and realizing that the woman who had been sleeping beside him is no longer there. He can feel his heart pause for a moment, until he hears a calm, soft humming coming from below, that he instantly recognizes as the beautiful and familiar melody that Zelda sings from time to time. Link relaxes, now knowing where she was, taking comfort in hearing her at peace.

A "Sneak Peak" for my upcoming Post-BOTW Zelink Fic! 💙💚

Together At Last

Excerpt:

On a cool Autumn morn, the leaves ever so slightly beginning to change their colors, the fall crops preparing to give their yield… The sun's rays creeping out slowly over the horizon, and the muted shades of oranges and reds turning to dazzling shades of blue as the dawn of a new day approached over Hateno Village…

Up the way, in the quaint house across the bridge, a young woman begins to stir, barely opening her eyes before closing them again. Wishing for her rest to return, but quickly realizing that it was but a fleeting hope, she begins to stretch her arms, before stopping as she notices the man beside her, still asleep with an arm draped over her waist. Slowly and quietly, trying not to awaken him, she turns to look at his face, his golden hair shimmering ever so slightly where the cracks of day shine on him. He makes her heart skip a beat, always surprising her despite their closeness over the recent months after they defeated Calamity Ganon, bringing joy to her every time.

Summary:

A few times a week, Zelda would walk up and spend most of the morning and early afternoon at the Hateno Village Research lab studying, researching, and talking with Purah and Symin (well mostly listening to them argue more than anything, something Zelda found more humorous than she let on). Sometimes, Link accompanied her, but on this particular occasion, she had visited the duo alone.

It felt comforting, healing in a way, to be able to put all of her focus and passion into the work that she loved. No longer having to worry or stress over someone pressuring her to be or act differently, and in fact be supported and encouraged by those closest to her, to reach those goals and dreams she had so long been forced by destiny to push aside...
