ts is rotating in my brain omg:
Elise is going to die.
When? How? Why? She doesn't know, but it's going to happen.
She carries an all-encompassing, stomach-aching, headache-inducing amount of dread with her wherever she goes. Whether it's to a dress rehearsal, a TV appearance, or a meet n greet: The dread follows, and the dread does not leave.
Maybe it's irrational. She's a bright girl, freshly 19, has a stable "job," and a nice life. But no, Elise is going to die.
She works herself up over it. She stays inside for too long, she avoids responsibilities. The dread has cost her time. The dread has cost her money. The dread has cost her approval.
But sometimes the dread goes away. Sometimes she sees this sweet, sweet girl, the "star child" as many call her, and she makes her smile. She calls her "Miss Elise" and kisses her hand and invites her over for sleepovers.
It's childish, but the dread goes away when she's with her, when she's with Opal.
