The Story of Witchet
Hush now child and listen well For I have a little something to tell It’s not too long so don’t you worry Your brain won’t hurt from my short story
There once was a girl named Witchet She was as charming & fascinating as one can get She lived in a faraway kingdom with castles and palaces As well as churches with crosses and chalices The other kids made fun of her and always called her unartful “I may not be good in art but I sure am smart!” she said with her mouth full
The king and the priests were hosting a competition To see who was the smartest with the most ambition “Hear ye! Hear ye! The king has an announcement!” All the kids gathered filled with excitement “Today, there will be a scavenger hunt! Everyone be prepared” Some people were happy, some people were scared Witchet was jumping for joy because this is a good chance “I’m gonna show them I’m smart, win the race, and do my happy dance”
The scavenger hunt is finally about to begin The kids were so nervous you could see the sweat on their skin The king started to speak, “You need to find three things: the most beautiful rock, the most sacred hair, and a piece of art.” Witchet started to panic “Oh no, I’m not good at art!!!” She had to calm down if she really wanted to win The king raised the flag and said, “Good luck to all!” as he grinned
Witchet ran to find the most beautiful rock She hurried as time passed on the clock Sadly, she was too late and all the beautiful stones were gone So she just took the ugly one left and rushed to the next one
She needed sacred hair but she didn’t know where to find it Until she came across a priest with full hair and decided to cut it She tonsured his head and collected all the hair The priest got mad but she had no time to spare
Witchet ended up in the finish line but she forgot one thing She didn’t have a piece of art to show the king The king started inspecting the rocks and gasped at Witchet’s hands “That’s a spilite you got there, it’s filled with gems!” The king threw the stone to the ground and gems spilled everywhere It was a sight to see, with all the jewels just lying there She then showed the king the most sacred hair she got He asked her where she found it and he started laughing a lot All the other kids became mad and they all shouted “How about the piece of art Witchet? Have you got it?” Witchet became nervous as the king waited for her art She then had an idea so she decided to start Music started playing as she got into the groove “This is my happy dance! Everybody, let’s move!” The king and the kids all cheered with glee and began to say, “Witchet is the winner! Hip hip hooray!”
The kingdom had a party and held a feast for Witchet Everyone loved her happy dance so she started to teach it The other kids went up to Witchet with embarrassed faces “We’re sorry about our claimless teasing, I hope you can forgive us” Witchet forgave the other kids because she knew they were sorry “I know you guys mean it so I forgive you, don’t worry!”
And the kingdom lived happily ever after. The end.
