Claire and I were interviewed by the Chicagoist about The Awkward Phase!
"CHICAGOIST: For those who might not know, what is The Awkward Phase?
Tyler Gillespie: The Awkward Phase is a blog about celebrating those times in our life where we might not have felt like we were… [Laughs] Claire and I both went through awkward phases when we were younger, and now looking back, we realize that those are times in our lives that actually helped us figure out who we are and we're celebrating that.
Claire Meyer: This project has really resonated with a lot of people. Everyone knows exactly what part of their life was the awkward phase, and look back on it now with such tenderness. At first, it's like "I'm never gonna make it out of this, this is going to be my whole life," but now, people seem to really soak it up and enjoy looking back on that time in their life.
TG: I think the thing that's the most interesting to me is that a lot of people will send us stuff that really just feels fun, but to them it was really awkward. I think everyone's definition of what was awkward to them is very different."
