Toa Rarepair Week, Day 5

Prompt: Rain

Ship: Clairja

“C’mon...c’mon...what’s taking so long?” Claire impatiently complained as she waited for the bus to arrive at it’s stop. Usually she would have walked but it was pouring rain, and both parents left for work early, so she was stuck.

Even worse, she forgot an umbrella, and her jacket had no hood. Clinging to the sign, she sighed as she slowly got more and more soaked. Hopefully she’d dry off quickly at school.

“Why are you just standing here?” The sound of her girlfriend’s voice snapped her out her thoughts. “Are you not getting wet?” A concerned Aja, who thankfully did manage to remember an umbrella, wrapped her arm around Claire.

She smiled at the gesture. “No ride to school, I’m gonna take the bus,” she sighed. Suddenly she felt an umbrella shoved into her hands, covering her from getting anymore wet than she already was. “Aja?”

“Take it,” the girl insisted, wrapping her hands over Claire’s to hold it over her girlfriend.

“Are you kidding? By time we get to school you’ll be soaked Aja,” Claire attempted to give back the protection from the rain.

“No worries,” Aja’s voice piped up. “Now come on! We’re gonna be late!” She said, taking Claire’s hand and running across the street before she could be stopped.

Claire sighs, both thankful and somewhat worried for her girlfriend’s health as she got dragged through numerous puddles. She at least hoped Aja wouldn’t be too soaked.
