Look at this.

These are all from the first couple chapters of Tsubasa. And just...

Sakura.

Her name is so inconsistent in the way it's written!

This first pic is when Syaoran meets Yuuko and Yuuko asks for Sakura's name. Or rather, she asks if Sakura is indeed her name- her words roughly translate to "The name this child is called is Sakura, right?".

There's also furigana alongside the kana, which is also weird- and redundant since the furigana is katakana, which Yukito uses earlier in the chapter (the second pic) when Sakura's name is written in kanji with the honorific. And the hiragana Yuuko uses is also the same as when Syaoran calls out to Sakura in the third pic.

And then the kanji for her name (桜) isn't used ever again the rest of the volume.

None of the other characters have this problem- not even Syaoran.

And this is just TRC Sakura. In CCS (at least the anime, since I don't own copies of the original Japanese CCS manga) Sakura herself switches between writing her name in hiragana, kanji, and freaking ENGLISH.

Actually, speaking of English, there's also a single panel where Shougo's gang shouts "FOWOOO!!", written out in English. And considering how everything else is still in Japanese, I'm not sure how to begin pronouncing that.

Okay. I'm done ranting. For now.

I wasn’t sure if it would happen but I am watching cardcaptor sakura’s sub on Netflix and the gross pedophilia IS in the anime

I wasn’t sure since I barely remember watching the dub on tv when I was a kid, I really read the manga, so I thought maybe it wasn’t in the anime at all

Me: Oh no CLAMP is just going to ruin everything. It’s their one great work with a happy ending and they’ve already ruined it via Tsubasa Chronicles. This is going to be a disaster.

Let’s just think about this meta: They foreshadowed his eye being blind by the constant shadows over the right eye, but that blindness in his right eye was foreshadowing IN ITSELF for him being a clone and the seal on his eye! THEY FORESHADOWED FORESHADOWING, CLAMP HOW.
