It is very important that everyone know that Dreissena is currently rushing about Clan Shingleback with a really big roll of measuring tape and a clipboard conducting our first census.

Sent to bolster Clan Shingleback's early population, as well as a symbol of good clan relations, Dreissena originates from Clan Raire of Water Flight. Dreissena is very much an action-taker. She oversees the food stores, delegates gathering duties and chores, and takes on any odd jobs or tasks she thinks she can finish before the next thing she "needs" to do. She is quite the busy Pearlcatcher, as she serves as Cinereal's liaison with other clans as well. She enjoys meeting new dragons and, when she feels Clan Shingleback will do fine without her, travelling.

Clancanon: Clan Shingleback welcomes visitors from every flight, so long as they are willing to abide by the following rules: 1) No fighting, unless it’s for play or friendly sparring. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis, heavily depending on whether Cinereal approves/is able to sell tickets. 2) Plague dragons must be compliant with sterile technique protocols. We won’t make you take a bath, but we will follow you around and burn everything you come into contact with. This is a Fire clan, and we can enforce that. Rules to be added as deemed necessary.

Been thinking about the attitude of my lair as a whole. I'm not super invested in rp aspects of FR, but Clan Shingleback is totally a party lair. Cinereal is incredibly laid back, and Lemna just goes with the flow. Their eldest daughters, Rayleigh and Chamisso, are happy-go-lucky monster smashers who help short term clan members bulk up a little before leaving to serve the Flamecaller. Raceme and Sagely both wandered in one day and decided to stay. Sagely actually turned up as a hatchie about the time Rayleigh and Chamisso hatched. Lemna was very confused until his brain caught up to his eyeballs. Dreissena wishes there was more structure, but not enough to feel discontented. Zwischenschiebe doesn't say much, and most of the clan thinks he's kind of weird, but he's got a knack for getting others to laugh without needing words. (He is the King of making unexpected funny faces, then pretending like he didn't.) Andreas is creepy but sweet (in her own creepy sort of way).

The only "officially" mated pairs are Cinereal and Lemna, and Dreissena and Zwischenschiebe. There's lots of half-siblings running around.
