Clanspeak - Number System
Because these cats are horrible at counting, so here’s how they do numbers.
Voiro: Zero, and is also the word meaning nothing.
En: One.
De: Two.
Seis (Says): Three.
Cat: Four.
Kuen (Kwen): Five.
Venset: Six to eight.
Iochyo (Yo-co): Nine. This is a number all- or at least most- know. Nine is essentially a sacred number for these cats, and the only time they can do multiplication.
Dais (Days): Ten, and not one of the more well-known numbers. Most tend to only be able to count up to only four.
Talorsm (Tal-or-sim): A group of something the size of a patrol, from three to five. Used most often instead of counting out how many cats are actually in the patrol.
Otlora (Oat-lore-ah): A group of something roughly the size of a Clan, from around twenty to thirty.
Seimar (Say-mar): A group of something roughly the size of all three Clans together, about sixty to ninety. Most cats don’t know of this number or what it means, largely because of how big it is and how little it is used.
Ther: Many, usually a number too high for them to count to. The equivalent to infinity.

A river frozen is worse than a river flowing - Shisewan ist - A cautionary expression meaning to be careful of who to trust, or to not make assumptions on first glance. This expression is used most often by DewClan.
Don’t let your star fall - The same as “watch your star”; an insult meaning the recipient is acting too prideful; can also be used as a threat in a similar vein as “watch your back.”
Stars above - An expression used to indicate surprise, anger or disappointment.
Watch your star - Tioc selna sei - The same as “don’t let your star fall”; an insult meaning the recipient is acting too prideful; can also be used as a threat in a similar vein as “watch your back.”
Languages
The cats that reside near or in the Clan territories speak a common language, dubbed Clanspeak. Languages, for the most part, do not neccessarily have a name like we do (English, French, etc).
Languages get named over a period of time, to what they are now called in present time (”the tongue of the ones in the Clans” > “the ones who speak Clan” > “Clanspeak.” This is also true for most other languages in this AU, such as Birdspeak, Crowspeak, Dogspeak, etc.)
Because the main focus of this blog are the Clan cats, I’m only going to go in-depth on Clanspeak. There are links below that will explain more on how it is spoken below.
